Not strategic. Fury and Joshua's teams have spoken to the WBC. The WBC is accomodating. They'll rank fighters who want to fight for the WBC title. Clearly, Joshua is now among those people. He hasn't been since 2016, which was the last time he was rated by the WBC. That's also why Joyce and Parker are now gone.
But ..whether I looked at the WBC ranking 5 days ago and there wasnt neither the shadow of Bodybuilder. Its an accomodation...clear.
Even after Joshua fights Fury I’d still love to see a Joshua v Wilder fight, the slightest mention of a Joshua v Wilder fight on here has posts flying in on threads on here . Joshua v Wilder is still a huge fight should it ever materialise .
Joshua on his very best night wouldn't be able to give Fury as good of a fight that Wilder gave him twice (1st and 3rd fights) Wilder is a delusional man, and mentally ill, but he is dangerous and a tough SOB.
If you want a really good chortle have a look at the WBA rankings. Lucas Browne and Trevor Bryan in the top 10. The WBA heads should do standup comedy. Never fail to crack me up.
Few questions I had reading this list was is how is Wilder number 1, when he hasn't won a fight since 2019. I've never seen Sanchez fight but looking at his record, not sure how hes ranked so high either, and finally Helenius's ranking seems inflated just for beating Kownacki.
Anyone else curious as to how this fight works out with Joshua's DAZN deal? Surely it would have to go on BT PPV?
