In my opinion he’s the greatest Light Heavyweight since Ward. Can’t wait for his upcoming fight. I mean Bivol ain’t ducking he’s fighting someone who’s 44-0! It’s gonna be a cracking fight!

Not until he beats a guy who has 100% KO ratio.

If he is not fighting Beterbiev, that's the next best fight.

If he beats Zurdo he's an ATG. 10 defenses, beat the #1 pound for pound easily, no controversial fights, with several good wins over contenders.

If he wants to be in the LHW GOAT argument he needs to beat Beterbiev and some collection of guys like Meng, Smith and Buatsi. Or at least, I'd put him as the LHW GOAT if he beat those four guys after Zurdo, assuming no losses. 14 defenses would tie him for the longest LHW reign by number of defenses, and he'd have a couple of HoF wins (Beterbiev and Canelo) with a host of good contenders beat.

There's no way to categorically state that he's the best 175 in a generation until he faces and defeats Beterbiev, assuming he gets by Zurdo (who is a handful).

If he beats Zurdo there’s only one fight he needs to win to prove he’s the best of his generation. So far anyway. Until then he’s in the top 2 for sure in my opinion.

And if both he and Beterbiev retire unbeaten without ever meeting, question marks will remain forever about who was the better of the two.

The Zurdo fight is null. Zurdo is a cruiser. If Bivol loses to him its simply down to size diffeence.

From stories of sparring and eye test on fights I have to say Beterbiev is better. I like Bivol and hope Bivol x Beterbiev fight can happen next year

Kovalev was the greatest LHW of his generation and at worst he should be 1-1 against Ward in Ward's country with all the officials for both of their fights coming from Ward's country. Very different story elsewhere but of course only one of them was a road warrior, and only one of them was a have gloves won't travel deck-stacking loaded dice rolling diva.

Beterbiev is the greatest LHW of this generation as of now but a fight between him and Bivol will determine who deserves that distinction.

    Prime Kovalev
    Beterbiev
    Bivol
    Ward
    Gvozdyk

for the last 10 years. I don't rate Zurdo but maybe he can eke out some good wins

Assuming punching below the belt isn't allowed, I'd favor Bivol over Ward

Since when the f*** was snatch and grab cheating arse Ward the greatest light heavyweight of this generation ?! Kovalev beat him first time round clear as day & then imploded into Bute mark II after the system shafted him.. Beterbiev & Bivol & prime Kovalev are ALL better than Ward.. Ward fkin retired after just a handful of fights at the weight most of which were boring as f*** & he was gifted his main win..
