Who do you thinks got this one?
Would prime Joe Frazier's unrelenting attacks to the body and head with the left hook and bobbing and weaving overwhelm Evander Holyfield?

Or would prime Holyfield's combination punching speed and body punching break Frazier down?

Stylistically I like this match up both durable boxers with big hearts. I'd like to say Frazier edges a win with this one and it would likely be like the fight of the century but instead of Holyfield sitting on the ropes like Muhammad Ali did he would be trying to lean his weight on Frazier and do all his work in the centre of the ring. I think prime Frazier just about outworks him and wins a points or split decision possibly scoring a knock down or two.

Joe Frazier at his best wins for me.
His heart, stamina, just pure relentless hooking power, would win him this.
Holyfield s a warrior too, Joe makes him stand and take each others shots.
It would be an absolute war and both get shaken but I see Joe winner by tko around 11.

Frazier drags Holy into a slugfest. That's Holys downfall. Frazier wins this fight.

This is imo the best possible hw champ mythical matchup.

I go back and forth, and think this goes the distance but today I like Frazier by SD or MD. If Cooper can rock holy with the hook he learned from smokin Joe, I think the master is gonna be able to hurt holyfield enough to take over in the second half and win a close decision. But 50/50 fight

for 15 I think they stay toe to toe and fairly even until about 6 and then Frazier turns it up, if Frazier doesn't get a KO by 9 he backs it off a bit to take Holyfield into really deep water just to turn it up again in 13-15, I gotta give the overall ring/fight IQ to Frazier and I think he would figure out how to gas and fatigue Holyfield be it a combination of savage body shots and getting into inside brawls that he definitely hurts Holyfield in more than Holyfield hurts him, Frazier might even let Holyfield get off a bit to get him to expel some energy and to fool his confidence before he starts really smoking

I don't get to pick Joe as often as i'd like in fantasy matches so i'll take the opportunity to pick him here. It's not easy by any stretch whatsoever as Holy has enormous heart, good skill and is reasonably heavy handed with all his punches. It would be a long grueling battle and both would be very much worse for wear. It's a decision over 12 and Joe might possibly perhaps maybe get a stoppage over 15.

I have no idea who would win this. I lean Holyfield for the superior boxing skills, I don't see Frazier getting him out of there. I think Holyfield has greater physicality, is as durable maybe more durable, more fundamental, has a longer reach and carries a lot more muscle at a lower bodyfat while being around the same weight. I also think Holyfield is the more technical infighter and outfighter, while Frazier packs more stopping power. Cardio-wise, I think Frazier may have a slight edge, but I can't call it either way on that front really. Holyfield had excellent condition usually, but post-prime had some bad looking fights. I think Holyfield busts him up en route to a UD over 12, if you take it 15 maybe Frazier could get a late stoppage. I think Frazier looks worse for the wear but gets some huge barrages and stuns maybe drops Holyfield.

I’m not totally certain who’d win. But this would be a bloody war and one that would inevitably take place at close range on the inside. High volume punching with hard well placed shots from both men. Undying wills. Crowd screaming. Probably a few accident headbutts too.

Holyfield at 205-208 weighed barely more than peak Frazier, at lower body fat, but when you consider the height differential he did not carry more muscle.
Holyfield had more upper body muscle, Frazier below the waist.
For some that is peak, faster, higher volume, Holyfield.

When he weighed 217 as vs. Tyson he carried more muscle.
Although at least in gaining this muscle-maybe earlier-he must have been using the PEDs the Balco scandal exposed him for.

This! So nice to take the day off from due analytical treatment to support a conclusion - simply not necessary when a poster has already provided a “Here’s one I prepared earlier” post.

Lest I’ve not been clear, I’m picking the half blind, one armed bandit with the full functioning heart…as crazy a pick as it is, I know.

Holyfield all day long. But it's a win on points.

Yep, poor old Joe, the “usual suspect” in many a police line up to make up the numbers.

Rumour has it that Yancey “Yoda” Durham used to put a black patch over Joe’s good eye, rendering him fully blind and then have Frazier train with a state of the art, remote seeker droid.

Joe took his licks (= numerous “stunning” laser shots to the head inducing involuntary “tics” for several days following) from the cheeky droid but eventually found his sixth sense - some call it a “force” he tapped into, and was nailing that droid flush every time with the lethal left hook while Joe’s “radar”controlled bob and weave saw him avoid all incomings.

Suffice to say, Joe was smashing these uber expensive droids to pieces every other day so Yank had to tell him to pull his shots because Team Frazier couldn’t afford the constant replacements. Joe begrudgingly complied but still, every now and then, couldn’t help himself…..boom!, another one bites the dust…leaving poor Yank shaking his head, yet again…
