I'll try and avoid a long essay but I'm going to amalgamate my thoughts on here; GGG is not Bivol so I don't see Canelo struggling in the same way again and GGG is no master boxer either. GGG is old and Murata was landing all night on GGG. Canelo is vastly superior to Murata. Canelo is an exceptional counter combo puncher to head and body. GGG is old and has shown weakness here before. All logical conclusions point to Canelo scoring a wide UD or maybe even a late stoppage via the referee jumping in I can see Canelo eating a bomb or two at close quarters but GGG is just too old to really follow it up unless Canelo is *very* hurt. Even then, his giant melon head and granite chin will let him absorb quite a few without severly impacting him too much. He can still probably ride out the storm. 9-3 Canelo or late TKO for him. Please share your predictions.
I agree with everything you said. Canelo is faster and has more punch resistance than Golovkin at this point. I think Canelo will only lose a maximum of 2 rounds to Golovkin. We may see Golovkin knocked out by a liver shot.
I've been going back and forth between Canelo decision or stoppage... Murata had success landing on GGG's body, and Canelo will be able to do the same. Canelo fought on the front foot for most of their rematch and looked much better doing so than he did in their first fight on the backfoot: for the trilogy, Canelo will most likely fight on the front foot again and invest downstairs, and I believe Canelo will get the stoppage in about 8/9 rounds. As a neutral though, it would be nice to see the underdog win, and a GGG KO certainly isn't out of the question. Both men have good chins, but if it breaks out into a firefight, either man could be stopped. I don't think this one will go the distance.
I’ve got ggg via stoppage. Don’t forget ggg is moving up in weight while canelo is moving down after a loss.
Canelo folds him in half in 1 round Canelo proclaims himself the P4P number 1. Terence Crawford jumps from the arena rafters and grabs hold of Canelo's nose then suddenly Usyk comes out of nowhere to get him a headlock as they all jerk each other crying they are numero uno p4p.
If it goes the distance Canelo will take it obviously. If not, I can see it going either way. Canelo has many obvious advantages, but GGG has a punchers chance and may very well pull off the upset.
Canelo was faster in both of their fights, especially in hard shots followed up by his quick combinations & he was really laying it on him in the Rematch alone.
Yup, and Canelo has gained a lot of momentum since while GGG has gradually declined - even though he is still a unified middleweight world champion.
I'm gonna say Canelo on a narrow but legit decision. The 2nd matchup between these 2 was eye opening for me. It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with both the gameplan and execution by GGG. He didn't come in and fight like a guy that got robbed in the previous matchup (I'm not saying he did, but GGG believes that) so I just don't get the sense he is a man possessed like JMM was in that last Pac fight. Roids and bacne aside, JMM was definitely in no mood to mess around that night. IF GGG could come in with that hunger, I think he KO's Canelo. He seems content in being a plodding slow motion power puncher though. Side note: I had $5 in an account I use to buy lotto tickets and I put it on GGG to get a KO at 9-1 odds. I don't expect to win it, but it should make watching the fight a bit more fun.
GGG is a better, more experienced and the more well rounded boxer than Bivol. GGG is old yeah and at 168 its a new weight for him but his last two fights were actual fights (Murata and Chenko) , wars. Since Canelo fought GGG he has essentially for 95% of it fought opponents who, as Billy Joe said, were there to "collect the cheque and go 'ome". I haven't seen one opponent since GGG who has ctually taken the fight to Canelo. His fights have essentially been spars. Even the Bivol fight, although Bivol was teeing off on Canelo he looked like he wasnt even trying and going at 50%. Canelo has also changed his style (well in part maasively influenced by his opponent not coming to win). And that is simply plod forward and throw single looping punches. He has degressed since GGG 2, he looked best in the GGG fights. If he did that plodding he does in those fights against tge GGG in GGG 2 fight, he gets KOd simple as. Canelo simply may have forgoten how to fight. And thats not something you want to do against Golovkin. However, like you said GGG is old, inactive and at a new weight. So no one really knows wtf is going to happen. However, GGG KO8
