I just payed £9.99 and woke up at 4 a.m just to watch GGG show up for a pay day. That was honestly one of the worst fights I have ever watched on ppv. Golovkin didn’t even try. I wouldn’t be surprised if this fight was arranged before hand. Even the judges tried to make the fight seem close by giving close score cards. I’m triggered honestly I mean Golovkin can have my money but he’s lost my respect. Oh and for those of you who say Golovkin is too old I’m not saying he was to win but he can at least try. Look at Chisora he’s the same age as Golovkin and he always gives 100% in every fight.
I tend to disagree. Yes, it was not a good fight and yes it was not worth the money but Golovkin did not just show up for a payday. it is not a coincidence that GGG was able to kickstart his effort at the same time that Canelo noticeably tired. A 40 year old Golovkin just wasn't able to do much with a less-than-great Alvarez until he slowed down. Once that happened Golovkin showed a lot of effort and desire.
The fight didn't live up to expectations but IMO it was not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Agree with the rest.
I paid 65 sadly. I was hoping for a Marquez style performance in the 4th fight against Pacman from Golovkin. He was absolute ****.
That’s another problem I had with the fight. I thought if Golvkin gets thrashed at least we’ll see a Canelo master class but we didn’t. Canelo was average as well. Neither of them ever came out of first gear which is what makes me think the fight was fixed.
My video cut out after 6 rounds. I just looked up the result because it felt obvious which way it was going. I just hope he retires and doesn't get fed to Mr Smug Eubank.
poor showing but what did ya'll expect I can't hate on GGG he's given us many memorable fights but he should have retired after Murata & not given Canelo this satisfaction
Well it would take some level of effort for anyone to exist in a ring with Canelo, or for someone to exist in a ring with GGG. However that that was exactly the amount of effort given. GGG took just as much as Canelo gave him. He took precisely zero risk to try and push the envelop and get a KD or stoppage. It was quite a departure from the prior two fights where the uncannily even capacities of the fighters made it turn into a clash of strategies and wills. GGG looked devastated by the prior defeats. This was quite different. Hard to understand what went on. GGG fought a regular war in Japan and Canelo had to dig deep to survive against Bivol, they had generational wealth before the second fight, so I don't get what changed.
