Just based off of accomplishments and resume. Not based off head to head. If he's not not who is?

Is Canelo Alvarez the greatest super middleweight of all time? According to Boxrec, he is.

I would place him in the top five, but not at number #1 just yet.

In the poll, I did not include boxers like James Toney and Roy Jones who did most of their fighting in other divisions.

In my opinion, Joe Calzaghe (46-0) is the greatest super middleweight of all time.

Hell no!

He wouldn't even be in my top 10.

It depends on what criteria you use

Resume @168:-

1 - Calzaghe
2 - Ward
3 - Ottke

H2H for fighters that have fought @168

1 - Roy Jones Jr
2 - Calzaghe
3 - Ward / James Toney

Sure Canelo got undisputed, but it was in a ****-poor 168, with no one of the calibre of Froch or Kessler, let alone a Ward or Zags.

My 2c

I wouldn't even rate him ahead of Froch.

Kessler, Bute, Pascal, Abraham, Taylor, Groves x2, Johnson, Dirrell (albeit questionable) > Golovkin, Smith, Saunders, Plant, Fielding, Yildirim

Ward is the only one who's debatable with Canelo

If Canelo faced Ward's competition at 168lbs he likely would have lost to Kessler and Ward.

Calzaghe would have pot shotted and danced circles around him.

He hasn't beaten a single other elite SMW

Most of the other guys on that list would be too much for him similar to Bivol

I’ll go calzone
While not a fan of his boxing style

I was a fan of him clowning & showboating Roy Jones humiliating him & giving him a taste of his own medicine.

i say this even though Roy Jones was my favorite fighter of that generation.

ashes to ashes dust to dust.

oddly enough , prime for prime I think Canelo might be able to stop CalSlappy late after being humiliated by him early.
