I'm impressed with Joyce's engine, chin, but i'm not that impressed otherwise. Takam is his best opponent and Makhmudov has just beaten Takam more convincingly IMO with numerous knockdowns and being up on the cards. I know Joyce got the stoppage but it was premature and questionable stoppage. Makhmudov was clearly leading Takam. I think Joyce is going to get outboxed by Parker who destroyed Chisrora last time out who is probably a better opponent than Takam and not 40+ years old. Prediction - Parker to beat Joyce but lose to a bull**** home SD for Joyce. This is the fight, though, that both fighters need to make a statement as title contenders. If Joyce loses his career is pretty much over as a threat to the title's, Parker may one day make a comeback because of being only 30. Maybe that will give Joyce an edge, but Parker says he's got his passion back for the sport,.
The only things impressive about Joyce is his chin and power. Other than those things i just mentioned hes not that good. I think Parker will beat him.
I've been saying it for months. Parker wins via points or 10-12 TKO. Really interested to see what Andy Lee has planned for Parker. Quite telling that Joyce insisted on a rematch too...
More to Joyce than meets the eye just like Wilder. He is very hittable when he walking forward but nobody is putting a dent in him. He's Old George Foreman but with workrate. They are planning to box Parker early then go after him mid/late when Parker tires. It will be a great fight
Joyce and Usyk have the best stamina around. Joyce seems to have the best chin around. Joyce has heavy hands and his "slow" but accurate combos can be enough to KO ot TKO every opponent in every moment of the fight. Great and serious athlete and boxer. My respect to him even as person. Nothing to add.
Not impressed with Joyce either i had Dubois ahead of him on points until he suffered that horrific injury
Imagine you're fighting a guy like Joyce who is hittable and eats some really good shots but he keeps coming forward, keeps pressuring and keeps throwing an insane amount of punches for a HW...it's frustrating. He's breaking guys down. He's basically a lower level/less technical version of Usyk. He's pretty good. Joyce is that kind of guy who looks the exact same in R1 and R12...and those guys are the best HWs if they can take a good punch. And Joyce definitely can. Right now i'd pick Joyce over everyone not named Usyk and Fury.
More convincingly? Makhmudov beat him by a couple of points while Joyce stopped him after landing like 15 punches in a row. Come on
He's a big solid unit with a massive jab, impeccable chin and he just keeps going for round after round. I think he wins on points relatively comfortably. 116-112 or so.
