Resume aside, I would have to say Michael spinks. Never had a good build either.

I meant top 2 at HW, not p4p.
P4p, he's nowhere near the top 10 for me.

Gold medalist doesn`t mean much, however Foreman and Frazier were better than most gold medalist, but Tyson would have destroyed both those fighters the year they won those gold medals, their opponents weren`t very good.

Ali didn`t look great in the 70`s aprt from his rematches v Norton and Frazier, he also beat the master destroyer, Foreman in the heat of Zaire, but the rope a dope wouldn`t worked on AJ and Fury, in fact it would be a disastrous tactic v the 85 inch reach of Fury, I don`t think it would be effect against AJ`s reach either, what reach did Williams have, and was he as well-trained and conditioned at 235 as AJ would be? Was Williams flabby? Fury looked quite lean at 246 v Wlad, he`d look amazing at 235, Wiliams was a lot smaller than Fury.

    WTF?
    What Tyson?
The 18 y/o that didn’t make the Olympic team in 1984 because he couldn’t beat Henry Tillman x2??
That’s a long bow to draw by even the biggest Tyson nuthugger and exhibit A of why he’s the most overrated fighter out of those listed.
    Thanks for proving my point.

No, I meant them being gold medalists didn`t mean much because a prime Tyson would have destroyed them when they were at that stage. A 19 year old Tyson would have battered a 19 year old Foreman, and a 19-20 year old Tyson would have destroyed Fraier at the same age.

Fighters mature at different ages. Tyson peaked young but his longevity wasn’t anything like Foreman’s or Ali’s. That’s beside the point. We can only match them prime for prime. Foreman barely had an amateur career before winning gold at Mexico. It’s actually a remarkable achievement compared to Tyson being groomed from 12 years of age to be heavyweight champion by the D’Amato team and still couldn’t even make the Olympic team.

Foreman at 41 batters Tyson at 41 too btw. So what? It means nothing.

Except they had the resume to back up their claim to greatness. Except for his Super Bowl lll win and some 4,000 yard seasons his resume is pedestrian. He had an outsized personality and with it came great cultural influence.

Some posters pooh pooh the notion of cultural influence but athletes are entertainers. I haven't watched more than an hour of tennis, golf, soccer, and hockey in my life but I can tell you who Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, Beckham , and Wayne Gretzky are.

I'm not convinced Olympic Tyson beats Olympic Foreman. In any case I can name a lot of heavyweight champions Big George whups when they are both twenty years old.

Doubtful. To be fair Tysons style was far, far better suited to the professional ranks but hey! So was Foreman’s.

Chepulis had a pretty amazing amateur record and 10 years maturity and experience on George. Foreman on paper should lose that fight but he destroyed Chepulis.
