    https://theathletic.com/live-blogs/canelo-ggg-round-by-round-analysis/yVW62F0WD7uR/

The Mexican superstar dominated from the opening bell, landing the more total punches and more significant punches throughout 12 rounds. Golovkin was too cautious early and did not show much aggression until the ninth round. By that point he was down too big and needed a finish to take the fight.

After 36 rounds, the rivalry between Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin has come to an end. There was no controversy over who the winner was in the third fight.

It was a classic performance by Canelo as he successfully defended his undisputed super middleweight titles. He came out swinging against Golovkin, who moved up in weight for the first time. The 40-year-old GGG could not pick up the pace in the early rounds, but he made things interesting as the fight was coming to a close.

Canelo’s performance was praised all across social media by those in the combat sports world. Golovkin’s performance was criticized, but the Kazakhstan native was also shown respect because of his status in boxing.

Saúl Álvarez, who goes by Canelo, beat Gennadiy Golovkin, nicknamed GGG, via unanimous decision — although the judges’ scorecards made it seem like a close fight.

Álvarez outclasses Golovkin for an easy decision win.

The Mexican fighter Álvarez, known widely as Canelo, definitively outclassed Golovkin in front of an adoring crowd to retain his super middleweight title and regain a bit of menace after suffering just the second loss of his professional career in May.

Golovkin started the fight slow, testing Álvarez with his left jab but rarely doing damage with it. Álvarez damaged Golovkin’s temple early, and generally seemed content to counter with flurries while occasionally swinging wildly for the knockout punch he had promised but that never came.

Finally, after eight rounds and 24 staid minutes, a fight broke out in the ninth round. Golovkin threw caution to the wind and repeatedly advanced on Álvarez, switching up his jab-only style for a more varied attack. In the 11th round he finally landed enough hooks to open up a cut on Álvarez’s right eye. But the offensive barrage came at a price, and Golovkin received almost as badly as he gave it. It was also too late.

The judges scored the fight 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113, seemingly giving Golovkin the last four rounds in generous fashion.

    Shall we continue Ceej?

The last thing you need is another beer. Drowning yourself in your sorrows after the beating Canelo put on GGG isn't going to help you. You'd better get sober and rewatch the fight without beer goggles on this time.
