Does anyone know how much they did? I was honestly anticipating this more then the fight.

Probably under 400K. There were tons of empty seats in the arena.

The gate has absolutely no bearings on the PPV buys.

And the fight was probably sold out or close too. If there were empty seats, thats on the scalpers not being able to move their overpriced tickets

Not saying the PPV buys will be great either, that **** was expensive... The whole point of DAZN was to kill the PPV model. That didn't turn out so great.

I noticed a few empty seats but not too many. In addition ticket prices were very high so that could be a factor as well

I think @sasto was saying even the "cheap seats" were $500. That building is too big to pay that much for that fight.

I paid $60 to see Pac/Morales II, but of course that was 15 years ago.

The venue was configured a little different than I expected. When I first looked when ticketd went on sale I think I saw some 3 levels up back row seats in the $200 area? Very few though and it quickly got to $500.

This is one of the rare occasions I decided not to go to something and have zero regrets. I'm dumb enough I'll pay hundreds of dollars for an atmosphere but there wasn't any!

They should be forced to refund anyone with that fixed fight sparring session.

The promotion only kicked in during the last week

    We got no open workout

We didn't even get any 24/7 style shows covering it either.

    It was a mess overall.

Even Eddie Hearn was fairly quiet and he hasn't given many interviews since.

Perhaps DAZN have finally had a good look at their business model and are wondering why they're in a financial crisis? Why is Canelo being paid $45m per fight when PPV sales might not even touch that?

The owner of DAZN is your typical Ukranian-Russian oligarch gangster pretending to be a respectable businessman who was cutthroat coming up so why would he lose money?

I agree they spent very little marketing the fight until the last week. It seems promoters are so cheap now and want to save the marketing money to pad thier own profit
