Willy Wonka had the perfect answer to these sailor boys - The Everlasting Gob Stopper.

When Jack Sharkey was stopped by Dempsey or Joe Louis, was the Boston Globe headline …

Nobody but that spinach-eating jerk with the bulging eye and skinny girlfriend ever wanted one.

Sounds very much like the headline to run with - a short, sweet pun, to the point.

Or, at least for the Dempsey fight, an alternative perhaps : “The Wheels Fall Off Sharkey After The Mauler Loosens His Nuts?” - a touch long winded maybe?, LOL.

Reading the OP the question was about Tom Sharkey who was a sailor and certainly did have a big tattoo of a ship on his chest actually think he was the first or certainly one of the first fighters to fight for a title with one!

Thread might of gone off on a tangent to Jack Sharkey the Boston Gob who was born to Lithuanian parents not migrated from Dundalk as Tom was.

Jack Sharkey took his name from his two ring idols Jack Dempsey and Tom Sharkey!
