Is anyone really surprised by this ? Obviously EH would not have wanted him to fight on BT or wherever but I've heard that, allegedly, JB's reluctance to take certain fights or eventual pull outs have been a source of frustration at MR HQ for a long while.
Maybe it is payback for Frank Warren pulling Chris Jenkins out of a fight with Conor Benn that Matchroom won the purse bids for. I'm sure Hearn has other plans for Buatsi, but the fight could have easily taken place on the Fury Joshua undercard. I'm inferring from this that Fury Joshua is unlikely to take place.
He's absolutely wasting his career away. This would have been exactly the kind of fight he needed, it was pretty much tailor made to push himself on and he's blown it.
I'd like the fight against Pascal - a step up in competition against a former world champion in a fight I would of favoured Buatsi. Confirmed Buatsi has received an offer to fight Callum Smith now. Buatsi likely now to be put against the best guy in the divison after Bivol and Beterbiev and is likely to lose in this massive step up class.
Poor decision here. Have him fight JP and then CS. The match doesnt make sense for Buatsi, Pascal was just what he needed
