GGG has always been this way. He has WAY too much respect for elite opposition.

But, as Paulie Malignaggi has pointed out, GGG couldn't pull the trigger when he was in perfect position to punch. How many times have we heard an old boxer say "I just couldn't get off". Well, GGG couldn't get off because he's past his prime. And old.

Yep. SRR said as he got older that he would see an opening but by the time he threw, the opening closed. Reflexes are gone for G.

Golovkin even said this, he knew when he threw he was gonna get countered so he had to be cautious. Murata is a bigger puncher but slower. If you can see shots you can take em (if you're naturally sturdy). It's the shots you don't see that send you to the netherealm.

Back to the original topic: Canelo would tee off on Murata for the entire fight. I don't think he'd stop him, but as much as Murata is open................

What we know is that there has to be a reason Golovkin fought like that, a passive style nobody has seen before.

One theory (based on Golovkin's comments) would be Canelo's dangerous counters being even more dangerous now.
    Another could be injury.
    Another could be trainer/tactics.
Age doesn't really do it because he only just fought aggressively against Murata.
Some suggest going through motions for paycheck.

In truth, it's so strange that it's hard to understand. Sanchez didn't understand it either and was trying to work it out.
Why did Golovkin fight like he was sparring, why wait so late to get started, why not try harder to win etc.

Maybe Golovkin will reveal in more detail later when the dust settles. But he owes the fans a proper explanation.

The reason caneloggg was so disappointing was solely because Golovkin did not want to press the fight for the first 8 or 9 rounds.

I blame GGG for this stinker.

Murata turned pro late, had some really good fights, never popped for drugs or had the powers at be carefully guiding his career and manipulating things behind the scenes. Clenelo is obviously more accomplished as a pro, but there's definitely an asterisk next to his name. I would have liked to have seen what Murata could have done at MW had he been a bit younger, maybe he can still have some good fights, as Golovkin is probably just a bad matchup for him.

Canelo out-smarted GGG, Murato is not on their level.

I'm of the opinion that it isn't coincidence that Golovkin was able to get aggressive at essentially the same time Alvarez tired. I think Alvarez slowed down and GGG was able to start finding openings. Then, because Canelo wasn't firing back, he was able to keep up the aggressive pace.
