Isn't it his last fight with MR, that was never going to be against Pascal on another network. Eddie isn't going to send him off to Sky with the money spinning Smith fight still on the table, then again it would take a monumental offer from MR/DAZN for JB to take that fight next imo, much more lucrative teaming up with Sky with that PPV still to come.
I remember Hearn making a snide remark after his last fight about how he likes his holidays. Insinuated that he wants him more active. He probably couldn't be bothered to fight. I don't get the impression he is that bothered about boxing and even his trainer is still talking about 'one more fight' before challenging - clearly indicating he doesn't have much faith in him.
If this is buatsi last fight with match room and not much chance of renewing his contract then hearn will be expecting Smith to beat him and need rebuilding. I think Smith should win this but I don't understand why either would take the fight at the moment. Loser of this will lose mandatory positions. I'm not complaining about the fight it should be a good fight and one I would look forward to.
Buatsi is an absolute shithouse. This is the second step up fight the man has chickened out of in quick sucession. If he thinks he can wait for everyone in the division to get old then sleepwalk to a world title he will be sadly mistaken. As if you keep on taking on soft touches that you bang out, as he has done, then when you are tested you arent ready for it.
He’s a fooking weirdo as well. Saw a video of him speaking to Cordina before the Ogawa fight and he was doing his best AJ preaching impression.
I have previously written in this forum that I dont believe that Buatsi will become anything and I stand by that. He doesn't have the right mentality for professional boxing. It´s sad because he is definitely talented.
100% Talented boxer but he's half assing it. Terrible shame because I had high hopes for him, Hearn should cut his losses.
So they didn't stipulate vada testing in the contract and only verbally agreed it is what I've heard which is fair considering Pascal's past.
This content is protected Matchroom had no intention of going through with the fight from the second they lost the purse bid.
It's been 11 ****ing years since the first Hopkins fight. It shouldn't matter if he's on the juice at this stage. If you can't beat this Pascal... FFS
Eddie Hearn has been nothing short of pathetic on Twitter this evening. I think he’s lost his head because dazn has been a monumental flop
Hearn doesn't usually reply to people. He probably has lost it a little bit tonight. He was arguing at one point with Fat Dan Rafael, Lenny Ellerbe and Lou Di Bella all at the same time. Only one missing was Weasel Espinoza.
