Fair enough to call him J-Park 3.0. I really think this is a new Parker we are seeing now. A lot of people have not caught up with the transformation - and they are still writing Parker off. Which is why this is a great time to show the world what he's got.
Ain't happening my kiwi brother I'd be very very very shocked i have to say. Just cant see it in any scenario.
He has changed somewhat from what I saw in the Chisora fight. Problem is what we saw him do in that fight won't work against Joyce. Whipping in shots from range worked against the smaller Chisora as did he new use of his jab to distract his opponent to set up the right hand. But against the taller Joyce those tactics won't work. If Parker is to beat Joyce he will need to show us something new that he has never shown in any fight. Which is why I and others are picking Joyce.
Correct but most would disagree But they also had slow hands which most would agree with Both are correct Slow-fast speed
I think those quick combinations involving uppercuts with some added bodywork could cause Joyce real problems. If Parker can time Joyce's jab it will make for an interesting fight. My big worry is if Joyce engages a negative grab n lean strategy like Junior Fa did, as Parker had no real answer to it.
When I see Joyce, the one thing he seems to rely on hugely is his CHIN. He gets smacked in the head so much, yet keeps coming. Is that supposed to be a good thing?
Doesn't he have an abnormally thick skull? Some people have a speed advantage. Joyce has a chin advantage. Granted it can't be healthy long term. I think this tendency to take flush shots gives Parker an edge should it go to the cards. I'm not sure Parker stops Joyce, but he has very fast hands for a heavyweight; I see him lighting Joyce up much like Takam did. Difference being Parker has the durability to see the final bell. Parker on points for me. Though this being a Warren card, I wouldn't bet on it.
He will suddenly become shot all at once. That chin will crack and he will become Danny Williams. Look for Wilder to be there now.
Seeing as this will probably go 12 rounds I'd favour the quicker puncher to rack up points over the guy who's gameplan is just taking punches to the face.
Problem Parker has is getting into range to land those uppercuts and body shots, one thing to do it to a 6ft 1 Chisora, another to do that do a 6ft 6 Joyce with a heavy, long jab. He's going to have to be far cuter to disguise his attacks and learn how to slip the jab. Parker's never been a counter puncher it's one of his biggest flaws, so even if he gets the timing of the jab he won't capitalise on it. We're going to need to see totally new skills from Parker to fight the type of fight you are suggesting. He not only will need to disguise his attacks, but learn to slip inside effectively, also learn to counter. We are talking about a huge overhaul in his skill set and I don't see that as likely, some improvements yes, but I'd be shocked to see this many. I don't think Joyce will jab and grab, he never has before and I actually think it's a skill that would greatly improve his effectiveness but he lacks this skill to frame, post, bar, collar tie, lean on, push and clinch to move opponents into his power shots. If he ever does learn that then the Foreman comparisons would finally be an accurate one and everyone in the division better watch out.
