Holmes-Norton. It was a lot more competitive and was a very close result. Bowe-Holyfield 1 was very exciting at times and would be a contender for the best heavyweight bout of the 1990s but,no disrespect to Evander who put up a spirited battle,Bowe was a clear winner.
You're kind of comparing apples to oranges. Holmes Norton was a more technical display of boxing with both guys attempting outpoint each other. Hoylfield Bowe was an entertaining phonebooth brawl.
Holmes vv Norton was for me, one of THE GREATEST heavyweight title fights. It was a cracking fight. The Bowe Holyfield fight with exciting and one of the best of the decade but its the first one for me.
I have to give the edge to Holmes/Norton, partly because Holy/Bowe I was a clearer decision victory for Bowe imo. Bowe got hurt more than a couple of times, but not as obviously as Holy. Holmes and Norton was more back and forth. Holmes overall dominated the action through ring generalship and his left hand imo, but Norton's best shots were absolutely thrilling and Larry definitely got hurt many times.
This is really hard to decide, and thanks Marcus S for a great thread. I voted for Holyfield Vs Bowe 1 just because of round 10.
Agree 100%. Don't see how the fights could even really be compared. They're both ATG fights of their respective kinds, that's for sure.
Holyfield-Bowe 1 - I enjoyed it more. Holmes-Norton was closer and the final round of was fantastic but I had more invested on Holyfield-Bowe.
I'd say Holyfield vs Bowe because it was more entertaining all the way through, people saying it was more one sided. But after 10 rounds especially when Holyfield amazingly comeback at the end of the memorable 10th round, watching it live you wouldn't know who was gonna win. Norton vs Holmes is a fantastic technical fight, with an amazing 15th round. But Bowe vs Holyfield is just more entertaining for me.
