Norris wins this pretty easily. Maybe it goes the distance, or maybe not. Only big punchers had a chance with Norris. Winky was a good fighter, but I don't see him being a threat in this matchup.

Duran landed a nice right. Hearns was in wars, and to be in wars, just to say it means he took punches to get into exchanges. Terry was in some wars like with Curry, who was older. but Terry's chin was not as good as Tommys. Both liked to brawl.

I lean towards Winky. Most that are picking Norris will likely do so because of his advantages in handspeed and athleticism but they are forgetting about what a truly neutralizing weapon and style Winky had.

Just ask Shane Mosely who couldn't use his speed advantage against Winky because everytime he went to punch he either caught gloves or ate a power jab. Timing usually beats speed. Winky proved that over and over once he committed to that high guard defensive style.

I used to think Norris's hand speed and Winky's lack of power would heavily favor Norris, but the more I think about this match up this fight can go either way. Like others have said Winky was great at neutralizing the opponents offense, as shown against Shane Mosley and Trinidad. Mosely and Trinidad had great power and speed and Winky shut them both down. Norris will have a hard time getting through his guard even with his fast combinations.

On the other hand I think Winky has a bad tendency to do just enough rather than trying to actually close the show, as shown against Jermain Taylor. Even in the Mosley rematch he almost gave that fight away when he allowed himself to get hurt in the final rounds.

I slightly lean towards Norris based on his workrate and firepower, but Winky is capable of holding his own against Norris.

Mosley wasn't a 154 fighter though, Wright was too big for him. And Mosley doesn't have anywhere near the footwork of Norris.

But considering Norris was almost KO'ed from a jab by Brown, I'm just wondering if Wright is able to land his jab frequently would it have an effect.

The footwork or foot speed is not what I was getting at It's the handspeed/combination punching that Norris and Mosley have in common. Wright used his jab to disrupt Mosley's combination punching and I believe he would do the same to Norris.

Point taken but Wright was the bigger man and could take more liberties with Mosley, look at 2nd fight when Wright dropped his hands and let Mosley hit him. Norris would be bigger and more physical than Mosley, hence why I think it's a much more difficult fight for Wright.

Simon, Vargas, were able to beat Wright, it's not out of the question Norris could replicate their performances.

No argument here. You are right about Winky's size advantage over Shane. Winky's walk around weight was 190 pounds. By no means am applying Winky would have an easy time with Norris. I just think he has the style to beat him.

Winky, either incarnation. the catch and counter or the boxer/puncher version (which everyone ignores).

And both are on my top 10 favorite fighters ever list
