What about Clenelo? Leading up to the fight, he said he hated Golovkin and promised to be ultra aggressive and KO him.

There's so much a fighter can do when his opponent is focusing on defense first.

What were Abel Sanchez and Golovkin complaining following the first fight??... They wanted "Mexican Style". WTF happened with Golovkin's Mexican Style?

Easy answer. He's 40. He may have Mexican Style desire in him but he no longer has Mexican Style skill.

It was more a lack of will than skill.

You don't understand the real difference between those two fights because you dont understand real fight mechanics and how they influence the vast majority of fights, and even moreso when discussing aging fighters.

Those two fights had completely different mechanics. They are apples and oranges.

It's why Golovkin was -400 against Murata and +400 against Canelo.

He's never really had Mexican style though. That was empty rhetoric to create buzz.

Only times Golovkin would try so called Mexican Style in the pros was against either smaller or light punching opponents.

When he fought actual peers he was always an overly cautious boxer puncher.

Ya I overstated this. I went back to watch parts of the Jacob's fight and he's more aggressive than I remember.

That's a better fight than I remember too.

Fair enough than I take back the overly cautious.

They didnt want Canelo to run along the wropes. The 2nd fight GGG stood and fought, back never touched the wropes. His back never touched the wropes in the 3rd fight either, and GGG did fight aggressively against Canelo in the last 3rd of the fight. If GGG got aggressive 2 or 3 rounds earlier we would have a new champ. GGG won round one and 9-12 and lost 7-5. Canelo did well for the first 8 or so before Golovkin took over.

He was the hardest puncher in the division, everybody was a lighter puncher than he was.
