in his defense, i was thinking exactly what he was. if the starting point of the debate is that the current hw ranks are the strongest since the 70s, then its not a debate worth having. it doesnt advance anything. its remedial.

Joyce and Parker are at this point meh contenders (with the winner becoming a top contender)

Parker is 255 pounds while remaining extremely fast, ironed chinned with good stamina

Joyce is 271 pounds with huge power, good stamina and iron chinned

These guys would be contenders in literally any era at minimal and champ in many

How so? I think people remember the 90s more fondly than it was.

    A question for CST:

Can punching power be improved in boxing?
    Yes or not?

Joyce has beat nobody of note
Parker has lost every meaningful fight
Two average fighters in a poor era

maybe if parker came in shape like his early pro days instead hes 255 pounds ffs.. getting to the point where hes just wasting his speed advantage he has over most hw's hanging out with fury means putting on the pounds iguess.

    1. Joyce beat Jennings
    2. Parker has beaten Ruiz, Hughie and Chisora

Even if what you said was true, they had lost every meaningful fight/had beat nobody, that would only be more proof of how strong this era is. Because Parker and Joyce are huge and skilled fighters.

perhaps. my only criteria is skill. the kind of skill that smaller weights need in order to excell in their divisions. the kind of skill that only usyk displays at hw. the things that make a fighter complete. todays hw division is full of incomplete fighters.

I like that Tyson Fury is ringside so early. Not just there to be seen.
