The guy has such a great potential, but holy moly, he really waste his potential and career. He had one of the best hand speed, his punches not just come fast, but he is very relaxed, and very natural. Has a Iron Chin(it's 1-2 level below granite, like Joyce for example), and he actually had a decent gas tank, before decided to bulk like a complete id****. He is wasting his career by not putting enough effort obviously and getting in a terribly trainer and entourage. Again why in the blue hell again a proven granite guy like Joyce you will come in your all time heavier, and have a cardio for literally 3 rounds ??? DId he expect something else to happen ??? He was never going to KO Joyce, first because that was never his strength, aka being huge puncher like AJ and Wilder for example. And second he is not a great combination puncher, and i don't see Joyce chin crack, unless someone combo him pretty hard. He needs to fire his whole team, get that fat fart Fury very much away from him, cause he probably is giving him very bad advice with the weight b.c. He needs to stick to his strength, and build from that point. But i don't see it happen. Such a wasted potential.
Never had the fighting tenacity or stamina to get through the toughest fights Nothing he can do, just like AJ You have it or you don't
Talent doesn't mean sh1t If you're mentally not there. Unfortunately JP has always and will always lack that mental fix that Usyk and Fury carry with them. It's life unfortunately.
You should really stop with your agenda in every single thread to either mention Fury or AJ in threads/topic where they have no business being in there. It's really annoying at that point. You are doing it for months. Just stop. Boxing is not just AJ and Fury.
He never had that much potential. He was always a Top 10 guy, but never good enough to compete with the elite. He's above average in every way, but excels at nothing.
His stamina failed him. Stamina is so ridiculously important it’s crazy how some fighters neglect it. Parker could win this fight skills wise but he was tired early on.
His speed at one point was elite level for sure. His cardio was fine, before he decide to go the road of bulking like an imb*****. His chin is clearly ironed as well(again 1-2 level below granite, but still rock solid). His reflexes and upper body movement was fine, but again that was before he decide to bulking. He has weak performance, that is 100% sure, but it was more of a mental part, not being there. It's a pity though.
I already said earlier that Parker has neither the heart nor the desire to succeed, Joyce beat him like a dog and after this fight Parker should take a good look at his career...
Of course he is going to be tired. He comes in a all time heaviest. Since he changed coaches, he for some reason decide to bulk up, forget his defense and become a power puncher ... Terrible choice.
yep very much wasted i remember watching him and enjoyed him so much the early years but it all went down hill after the joshus and whyte fights..
Yeah this is my gut feeling. Wins over Ruiz and Chisora Losses to Joshua, Joyce and Whyte. The Whyte loss feels out of place and I'm fairly certain he'd win a rematch but otherwise he's about where he should be. The 6th or 7th best in the world.
I thought their tactics were wrong tonight. You saw in bursts how Parker's speed could see him have success, if he could beat Joyce to the punch then move off and do that for 12 rounds maybe he could of made in competitive and taken it the distance. But going in heavy, with a likely strategy to try and KO Joyce who's never even looked remotely hurt even when taking repeated flush shots, was dumb.
Eh, come on, he surely got heart, or he would have gone down/quit a lot earlier. Some people don't realize what you need to posses from million others to be on that elite level, top 10 or so.
