There is "no chance" the contract for a proposed all-British heavyweight world title fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will be signed on Monday, says promoter Eddie Hearn. Monday is the deadline set by WBC champion Fury's promoter, Frank Warren. Joshua's team said they have "accepted all terms" to the offer. However, Hearn said his team was getting the contract checked, claiming it was "all over the place" after waiting nine days to receive it. "If he doesn't [want to fight Joshua], and I guess he doesn't, then he'll do what he'll do and the fans might even fall for it," Hearn said. "But what I am seeing, the fans aren't falling for it. "We have a meeting on Monday, with DAZN, with BT, with everybody but it's going to take time. If he wants to put a time frame of Monday on it then it's clear to the whole public he doesn't want the fight. "It's not getting signed on Monday so if he is walking away on Monday the fight is off."
Hearn will do what he always does. Fail to get a big fight over the line then stand there holding his nose pointing his finger at the other side. Of course they don't want this fight. They want to milk Joshua V Zhang and Joshua V Whyte 3 on their shitty app before throwing him to the wolves.
Joshua should be telling Hearn to get the **** on with it. He'd clearly fight Fury, so it's Hearn getting in the way to milk his cash cow a little more. It's only a matter of time now before Joshua gets chinned by someone well below Fury's level, then he won't be getting a 40% split if he get's anything at all.
They haven't accepted anything until the contract is signed. I agree AJ wants it, but does Hearn and is his ego going to get in the way? Fury also wants it.
Get that **** done Hearn. It's a travesty if this fight falls apart and they waste this. How long does it take to look at a contract, someone should have done it this weekend. If they agree on the terms, stop the deadline games, time wasting, and childish one up nonsense.
I'm willing to bet half my savings that it's Fury and Warren who are holding it up Fury gave some unrealistic demands, agree in a week or we won't fight, agree to have the fight on December 3rd or no fight, he didn't expect AJ to agree to fight him so soon after Usyk, now Fury is looking for a way out
Fury is full of ****. He is putting a deadline till Monday, when Warren himself said the broadcaster will have a meeting exactly at Monday. Hearn said he cannot talk in details what was not right in the contract, cause it's a legal issue, he can't talk about it, but he mentioned that AJ is commercially obligated, so that is some of the points. Warren also confirm they corrected stuffs in the contract, that obviously wasn't right. So this is nonsenses. There is way more than just fighter fee, date and venue. If AJ didn't wanted the fight, he would have said it long time ago, and not accepting the fight. And Hearn did deliver the fight, and AJ sign that contract, but Wilder the so call arbitration comes in the way. People on here have short memory.
I think Eddie Hearn is too busy planning the Chinese invasion in Taiwan and instructing Putin's which next steps to take next, to have time to plan holding up the Joshi vs Furry fight. That said, everything what's wrong in the world is Eddie's fault by default, so eventually it's Eddie's fault anyway.
I think DAZN is holding it up & Hearn is happy to go along with that the idea that Fury is holding it up or looking for a way out is stupid. if Fury was never interested he would never have said December 3. he would have insisted on the original offer that said November 12. he would never have said 60/40 and 50/50 rematch clause. which is very decent for voluntary defence and better than what most people here expected. it wouldn't have said these things after AJ showed an interest. he would have given unacceptable terms. Hearn is the one here saying outright it cannot be signed on Monday. despite the meeting on Monday. so he's saying he envisages multiple meetings but also said time is running out, so you have to doubt his sincerity. it's been almost 3 weeks of talks already. Fury shouldn't give deadlines but he's clearly frustrated. it's such a great opportunity for Joshua. honestly. he has the chance to get the biggest win of his career after two losses and go down in the UK as the better fighter. whether he'll then want to go for another Usyk fight who knows. but it's a great chance for him right now. but I'm not sure Hearn believes in it at all.
the positive thing Hearn said was that him and Queensberry were meeting and progressing it. so he seems to be on board to some extent. I think he knows how much Joshua wants it. Hearn seems to absolutely hate Fury these days. it's hilarious. he used to seem to enjoy the banter. but ever since Joshua & Whyte fallen off he really seems to hate Fury. probably massively regrets messing up his chance to sign Fury in 2018.
Not sure if it’s Hearn holding up the Fury v Joshua fight but there’s been a few mumblings on YouTube etc that dazn are not too keen on the fight taking place especially with Joshua tied up to a big lucrative contract with them. Which makes sense business wise as they would obviously want Joshua to rebuild for a few fights and then a proposed title shot whilst making more money from the revenue of more fights then basically going into a sh*t or bust fight with Fury straight away .
It took Warren almost 2 weeks to send the contracts over, they then need to be scrutinised by lawyers and the Broadcasters need to come to a mutually beneficial agreement. Warren and Fury both know that it takes longer than a week to get through the legal stuff. In the meantime Joshua has agreed to everything Fury demanded such as fighting December 3rd instead of December 17th, 50/50 rematch split, ring size, gloves etc.. So, any suggestions that it’s Joshua who’s stalling are completely ridiculous and if anyone seems to be trying to back out of the fight it’s Fury! Fury knows how long things take, he knows Matchroom have only had the contracts for a week, not the 3 weeks he keeps quoting and he’s never put a ridiculous 48 hour deadline on this stuff before SO WHY NOW? I’m beginning to think Hearn was correct from the outset, this was an attention grab, a publicity stunt from the start and Fury/Warren have been caught out by Joshua accepting everything.
