How about accepting that contracts are hard, and it's not down to either boxer?

Hearns got boxing youtubers and boxing twitterers on the payroll spinning things. No surprises if they team up with the Wilder agents.

I didn’t say that it was down to any boxer, although it could, in part, be. And if that’s the case (which I don’t know) it would be Joshua.

Fury and his team are quite clearly full steam ahead.

Whilst accepting you didn't say "Joshua", you said his team - and fair enough - you can't have it both ways.

Fury's team have been at cross purposes this week - old Frank was saying he was still working despite the "deadlines" for example - so they're clearly not all full steam ahead; Frank's been on the defensive today kind of agreeing with Fury's nonsense which felt like an admission they can only really do what Fury wants. If you think Joshua's side is holding things up then clearly they're accountable to Joshua too.

Evidently it's Ajs team holding it up, look at the speed of movement. Franks team draft a contract from a blank piece of paper within a few days. Send it over. Nothing gets sent back for ten days. Franks team get it read and sent back in a day and a half. Now the Hearn camp have had it for what six more days now? And still nothing. They are dragging their feet big time, and on purpose too.

Just because you've been given a contract it doesn't mean you have to accept it, even if you really want it to happen, the contract has to be agreeable, it has to be reasonable. I'm not defending Hearn I'm just stating something that's fairly obvious.

If cousin Benga was head of security this would have been done and dusted on the spot. Short sighted by Fury not to stipulate this in the contract. BISMILLAH!

This is the reason we need some proper control in the world of boxing, Promoters been ****ing things up since the year dot.

Big Shane should just be sent down to Matchroom HQ with a pen and bit of paper, be signed within half hour.

My personal theory on the Charr situation is that he was chosen in 2018 to be Fury’s 3rd fight. At the time I believe he held some minor title, and this would be a logical way for Fury to have a belt to his name early in his comeback.

Fury then chose to fight Wilder instead and 4 years have passed.

Fury/Queensbury may have an obligation to Charr if a contract of any sort was signed. They can either pay him off, fight him or come to some sort of other arrangement (hence the Dubois/Joyce vs Charr thing).

Fury wants a fight this year - ideally he’d like Usyk or Joshua but if an Usyk fight is next spring, he wants a fight this December. Despite all his bravado, he knows Usyk is a challenge and won’t want a year of inactivity.

Fighting Charr fulfils his obligations and is an easy fight. Fighting Chisora would be more lucrative, an easy win and also has the narrative of being an opponent Usyk struggled with.

I had a feeling that Fury’s claim of Monday being the deadline was nonsense. He looked off his face on Saturday and I suspect it was that talking as much as anything.

The noises from the promoters have actually been fairly promising.. so fingers crossed it can be announced in principle before Monday.

    Thanks, what’s your hypothesis then?

It’s all well and good saying people are ‘naive’ or ‘wrong’ - but it’s pointless unless you can back it up.

@Brixton Bomber - this burner adds precisely 0 value to the forum. Hopefully it gets banned.

Best to stay away if you're not going to add to a meaningful discussion. @Furious made some good points regarding the Charr situation, yet you continue to behave like a child.

If that's your thing, then all the power to you. But do it in the mains, they love that kind of stuff over there.
