I'm not sure Joshua wants this fight. We all know he lacks the minerals to beat someone like Fury, but truthfully even if he did want this fight, Hearn won't allow it Hearn is blocking this fight because he knows Joshua will lose to Fury and that will be the nail in the coffin for matchroom. Look how negative he is. All he has to do is sign the contract. 60/40 fight. It's a fair deal. He has about what ? 21 days to do it ? And it's already been 2 weeks. He keeps nitpicking the contractual information to stall time and then blame Fury's side when the deal collapses. Hearn said the fight will NOT be signed by the previous deadline and no problem dismissing the fight when Fury said he wanted to move on. Hearn didn't protest, talk trash, or anything else. He told Fury "then off you go" almost as if he wanted Fury to move on https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-ne...-for-tyson-fury-fight-says-eddie-hearn/251722 Stop judging with your feelings and analyze the situation. Fury sent the contract. You can say he's acting like a Diva and wants to fight Joshua now that he's 100% ripe for the picking, but he sent the contract and that's the reality. Saying Fury doesn't want this fight is objectively wrong.
More troubled by Fury fighting Charr and rumours of Joshua against Arreola. It's difficult to keep caring about who is actually to blame when both sides are masters of spin. The two fighters should just train and stay out of it. They have a venue, they have networks. Tickets would sell out within 24 hours. So is there a need for public deadlines? If it happens, I'll pay through the nose and watch. If it doesn't and they fight some no hopers, I'll catch on YouTube sometime later.
I think there's a lot of posturing involved. You don't want to be seen allowing your opponent to dictate terms, etc. Eventually this leads to saying you'll take the fight but only under certain hothouse flower conditions and that isn't much different than saying you won't take the fight at all.
I always thought it was Hearn, when 4-5 turned down the offer in what ultimately became the first Ruiz fight.
Hearn-J acting like they are in charge still, but times have changed and they won't submit to very generous terms. They are used to every fighter bowing to their terms but Fury is the first to have the power to call the shots in the negotiations. Naysayers need to think about this. When is the last time a fighter called the shots against Hearn-J? You have to go back basically to the Wlad fight for there to be even 'equality' in the negotiations and there Hearn-J still had their way. That's where the problem lies. AJ fell and Fury rose. And now you had a fight will plenty of time, a big split still, another title opportunity and from the get-go they were acting like they were being hard done by and started blaming Fury, basically exploiting his frustrated outbursts. They were the ones who needed to bend over backwards in this deal and they wouldn't do it. I'm sure it's not quite over and could still be done, but it's funnier if it falls through.
Fury stops negotiations two weeks into it while his own promoter is literally begging him to keep letting them negotiate. "Hearn doesn't want it!" How are people still falling for Tysons publicity stunts.
Why can't Fury wait to fight Usyk in March and the winner can fight Joshua? How hard is it? I like Fury but going after a man who lost his previous 2 fights is pointless.
Both sides to blame. However I'll say the deadline set a bad precedent and they should just be negotiated out of sight of the media. The salary splits are fair, but sometimes issues like venue, date, gloves, ring size, etc. are fair things to squabble about and both sides should take their time with that. Fury going on to say he was going to fight no hopers like Charr didn't settle well with me.
Nothing whatsoever. He also has done nothing to earn a chance at Fury. I meant Fury and Usyk should fight each other. If Joshua can beat a legit top 10 heavy in the meanwhile, he can get a chance to fight the winner of Fury-Usyk.
It's obvious Matchroom are stalling. They don't seem enthused about the fight at all and lack any kind of urgency. That tells its own story. It almost feels like they're giving Fury and Warren the run around as payback for last year.
Why should Joshua get to fight the unification winner, other than being a big money draw? Think I answered my own question.
