3G tough decision. As good as Kessler was, he was a tad too predictable and straight forward. 3G much more versatile and skilled technically.

Remember when 3G said YES to Ward in an HBO meeting, and SOG was still fighting his promoter and bad shoulder?? And remember when SOG finally came back from his near two year lay-off, he was a LtHW said he could not make 168? Remember all that too? ;)

No can’t say I do Lance. I was always of the view that he did not fancy it deep down.

Ggg said anyone 168-154 can get it and ward wanted all the smoke yet ggg said for you no 164 catchweight. Ggg ducked ward and wanted nothing to do with him at 168. Ward moved up and fought kovalev a guy people said would destroy him.

How can you now know about that HBO meeting took place? It's been spoken of quite a bit.

If 3G did not fancy the fight, I don't think he'll tell HBO execs YES, he can fight. If Ward , who said no at the meeting, actually did want it, why did he say no? If Ward could NOT actually fight due to his injury at the time, then his barking for a fight was clearly noise and attention.

I would have favored Ward, but sure as hell not counting 3G out.

Ward and 3G at 164 was meeting in the middle. There's nothing wrong with that. Ward didn't want it....remember that. He also said NO at the HBO meeting, remember that. Did Ward try to make an offer while 3G was signed for Lemieux already, yes, knowing that is just a ploy to look good.

Ward couldn't make 164 that's why ggg insisted on a catchweight. Ward couldn't get ggg in the ring so he dared to be great and took on kovalev which was a fight some people said he would never take. There's no way in hell that Ward who was willing to move up and fight kovalev at 175 would be scared to face ggg at 168. One fighter has shown the willingness to fight the best the other not so much.

After he had made it known he was moving to 175 of course he did then but that was after ward had taken ggg up on that whole 168-154 ggg and his team were talking about. Ggg didn't want ward then, they offered a catchweight of 164 even though ggg was willing to fight Chavez jr at 168 but not ward. It was hilarious and a clear sign that they wanted nothing to do with ward and tor good reason. Every excuse in the book gggs fans made back then for ggg not to fight ward at 168 it was funny as hell. Ward is boring
    Ward isn't a draw
    Who is ward
Ward needs to move up to 175 and fight kovalev instead of trying to pick on ggg.

Ward fans wanted the fight at 168 but ggg fans didn't

Only an idiot or complete hater would pick GGG to beat Ward

    No, f..k no he wouldn't
Ward isn't 5'7 canelo, he would bully 3g inside and box circles around him

I definitely can't see GGG winning that fight

Asking for a catchweight of 164 pounds was another way of avoiding the fight.

Weak offer that tried to save face. Ggg and his team knew ward was moving up. Before ward announced he was moving up ggg and his team were quiet as a church on Tuesday. It would be like guys at 130 now calling out Shakur when they know he's moving up to 135.
