Calzaghe had a reach two inches longer than Saunders has and was a natural super-middle that floored Eubank Sr and stopped Charles Brewer.

 

He didn`t land much in the Plant fight till the KO and any hooks he landed before that ha zero effect.

 

Calzaghe was knocked down by Byron Mitchell and Kabary Salem. The "Greatest Super Middleweight of all time" doesn't get knocked down by journeymen like that. If fighters like that could put down Calzaghe imagine what Canelo would do to him.

You know aswell as I do that great fighters throughout history have been floored by lesser fighters plenty of times. That doesn't necessarily mean they lose to certain fighters though based on that.

For example Tyson Fury was floored by a totally unknown non puncher in Neven Pajkic, now without hindsight would you have picked Fury against good puncher like Wilder based on that ? probably not.

But what we do know is Canelo's workrate pales in comparison to Calzaghe, also Calzaghe's footwork is much better than Canelo's. And i find it hard how Canelo would be able to deal with the angles, footwork, workrate, southpaw style of Calzaghe.
