DAZN UK is the best thing since the fork and knife was invented to eat food saving money on a trip to the river to wash hands.
We’re long past the days of the quality of the undercard having any bearing on UK PPV sales. As long as it goes on long enough, and we’re told a million times that it’s ‘stacked’, that’s all that matters. If it sells, it sells. If it doesn’t, it won’t be because the undercard is poor.
That's poor for a fight that had 100k in attendance. That should be around 1.3+. Just goes to show that even if you can "crack America" doesn't mean its the same here unfortunately.
The price for non subscribers for eubank vs Benn is too high. I would assume DAZN are expecting the vast majority of buys to come from current subscribers at £19.99. I've never seen Hearn make such predictions before about ppv buys so unless the numbers ordered so far are ridiculousy high then he really is shooting for the stars as 1 mil buys is very rarely done in the UK.
I didn't buy Fury v Whyte because I thought the undercard was the equivalent of a slap in the face. I accept that many are only interested in the headline fight, but I don't think I'll have been the only sale lost on that and other cards where insufficient resource was devoted to putting on a decent night's entertainment. I think 700k would be good going, it didn't benefit from massive Sky promotion, BT are good at what they do but their reach isn't as great.
I get what you're saying in principle but it sells more with a better undercard thought, that's facts.
No, I actually was thinking that it’ll do about 200k rather than the 1m. I haven’t heard 1 casual talking about it. Even ones who loved the dads fights.
600k-1m buys I saw Hearn say. He said it would do 1 mil on sky. Hearn will use the metrics for how much the shoulder content is being viewed , how much traffic is being directed to matchroom on YouTube and Twitter and what's trending. In simple terms they would compare that kind of data against for example bellew v Haye to come up with a prediction. I think if they hit 500K at the price point they are charging they would have done very well. That's Khan v Brook numbers.
