Everyone knows that Ward could not make 164 pounds.

 

Then it wasn't meant to be. simple as that.

 

I think the fact that Golovkin was happy to fight Canelo at 168 but not Ward says a lot. My view is he knew he would lose and did not want to. Can’t say I blame him because Ward is difficult to defeat.

 

3G had a goal Olu, unify 160. Why would he have to give that up just to move up and face ward? The reason for 164 was 3G was not planning to stay at SprMW. 3G wanted it, Ward wanted none of that. 3G was difficult to defeat w/o judges help.

I don't think calling a boxer a name means anything to other boxers. That's actually just childish banter. Maybe Ward shoulda said yes to the 164 fight.

 

He was offended by them calling out his name but refusing to move to 168 for the fight. His view was keep my name out of your mouth if you won’t step. Canelo stepped up to 160 to face 3 G in fights 1 and 2 as did Ward for Kovalev when he was the Krusher. As for Bad Chad Dawson, Ward did not call him out rather he called out Ward and said he would come down to 168. It’s all good though as He won my respect by not getting knocked out in the 3rd Canelo fight hence I now respect refer to him as 3G.

 

He was offended by that??? No he wasn't. That was nothing to be offended by Olu. Ward could have taken the fight...but we know what he said. He said NO. None of this changes the fact.

Like I said, 3G was looking to unify 160. That's not a bad thing. Ward was OUT of the ring for nearly 2 years, and returned as a LtHW. It's no one's job to make sure Ward gets any fight he wants.

 

The fact that GGG offered Ward a fight at 168 but Ward said no ... says a lot.

 

Lemieux is too good looking to be a fighter. He should retire before he suffers the fate of Jerome LeBanner.
