Connor Benn has tested positive for a banned substance (Clomifene).

In his most recent interview with IFL Eddie Hearn noted that you can get a Therapeutic Use Exemption certificate (TUE) for Clomifene.

Does anyone on this forum know any info about the use of TUE's for otherwise banned substances, within the world of boxing?

There were rumours a few years ago that AJ had TUEs for banned substances. I'll dig out some info and add it into this thread, but I wanted to initially cast the net wide to see if anyone knows owt.

    Eddie knows all about TUE's

    Ask Dillian Whyte

AJ is TUE'd up the wazoo

These guys have had plenty of failed tests swept under the rug

The sport is corrupt EVERY SINGLE BODY is corrupt. Athletes, testers, media, promoters, judges DOCTORS. YOU NAME IT

Mayweather takes IV bags in his hotel room and injects his hands
AJ breaks all the testing machines because he's so roided up
Whyte has Eddie legally defend his failed tests so he can fight
Fury eats a hedgehog and boar meat and they sit on a failed sample for nearly 2 years because they want to make a buck off him

One day someone will leak the dirt from these testing agencies who are just as corrupt as anyone else.

I'm not sure why they agree to VADA voluntary testing. They always seem to go that extra step and find anything to pin on these fighters.

No doubt there will be many more juicing, there are more steroids than there are tests for, that’s why they hold onto the samples for so long. Why would there even be a TUE in place for something like Clomifene (smh) and no surprises that Hearn knew all about it .

Floyd Mayweather was retroactively issued a TUE by his privately contracted testing agency for illegal IV fluids long after the Pacquiao fight.

That's not the issue. He won't technically "fail" if he's been granted an exemption for the use of testosterone and other performance enhancing drugs. Getting these exemptions is the issue.

He's the most muscle-bound athlete on the planet, and he may have been given a pass to take PEDs because of a spurious (?paid for) dodgy medical certificate

Therpeutic use of hormones? A tue is to bring hormones to a natural level

Why would a 25 year old in peak athletic condition need his hormones to be brought to a natural level?

His hormones are fine, he's just a cheating juicer

You can get TUEs for the use of any banned substance, including those with direct performance enhancing qualities and those who's effects mask use of steroids.

Serena Williams whole career is based around TUE's.

You can get TUEs for steroids and a plethora of other banned things. There's no debate about this.

The question is who has them and why. Especially in boxing where you are more likely to physically injure the other person by using them. AJ being allowed steroids or similar would rightly be a scandal.

This isn't Lionel Messi or Bradley Wiggins or Serena Williams. He was the heavyweight champion of the world
