Benn fails drug test

This is the most sickening thing with regards to how it was handled. Hearn and Sauerland got caught out big time here. Trying to pretend nothing happened for two weeks until the Daily Mail let everyone know Benn failed the test. The fact that these promoters not only hid the truth, they pressured the BBBC to make the fight by threatening legal action is truly sick. Trying to force a fight between someone juiced up against someone weight drained.

Professional boxing is all business. The health and safety of the boxers comes second. It's disgusting that promoters don't care.

 

Wasserman is arguably worse as its their man that was being put at risk.

Never really had a view of Kalle other than the coke videos, but this is a disgrace from him and his brother.

The fact is, no leak we are now sat here debating whether CEJ makes weight. Eddie and Kalle only got forced into making the correct decision, and fought it every mm.

Anyone who’s not a Matchroom bummer is hammering Benn. Bellew is pretty much silent apart from a cryptic tweet, Fowler is defending Benn, Sam Jones is calling everyone a hypocrite for slating it and Ebanie Bridges doesn’t even know what a B sample is.

Fair play to Carl Frampton, Liam Smith, Josh Taylor, Nathan Heaney and Joe Gallagher for speaking out.

 

And they're trying to portray themselves as victims of the boxing board

 

Not just that but you had 1 promoter withdrawing a fighter because the other refused VADA testing. You literally couldn't make it up

If I understand the VADA rules correctly, he hasn't - he has the right to ask for the B sample and rule out any mistake in the A.

The fact he hasn't asked for it, makes him shady but in Scottish law they'd call it "not proven".

 

Flawed system then, makes the whole thing utterly pointless

 

Agree 100%. Seems you volunteer for the tests, but can also volunteer whether to accept the results.

 

I think, in the interests of transparency, VADA should publish the substances they test for and UKAD their list. Doubt that’ll happen though.
