I think it's possible. Watson had so much fire in his tragic Supermiddle clash with CE, this could easily be Calzaghe s hardest fight at the weight. Would LOVE to have seen this. Thoughts?
I reckon Michael Watson would be durable enough to overcome Joe Calzaghe he would have an advantage with his strength it may take him 3-4 rounds to time his punches against Calzaghe and his southpaw speed and rhythm but Watson would be astute and sharp enough to take an overall decision.
Calzaghe wins with his handspeed and volume. Watson was a solid guy but I like the Calzaghe in this one.
I think Watson would put him under intense attack and give even hurt him. But it's a close run thing and wouldn't be surprised to see Joe get the split decision win.

Yeah, agree that Calzaghe would probably edge this in a really tough fight. And, yeah, also agree it would likely be a classic.
I might favour Watson here, who is defo a H2H British Great! Calzaghe proved he is tough, hard and awkward enough for most any fighters in & around his divisions, however it has to be Peak 4 Peak in these fantasy match ups, and the 1st Class Skilled Beautiful Boxer that is Michael Watson, could surely out point "No Ordinary" Joe and many others too.
