Do you approve of Tyson Fury fighting Chisora in December? (poll)

Yeah, and the problem is not just Fury, but a lot of fighters are like this nowadays, but a good example was set for them to look for.

And of course Joyce, who is a WBO interim or whatever, and said he is willing to fight Fury. Zhang Zhilei was also ready to fight, and would have been great fight.

All of the above are good stay busy fight that on paper the "so call GOAT" should not have a problem with.
Joyce is a hard fight, no doubt about it, but isn't that the purpose of being Champion, to actually fight the best ?

It's not like there is no good opponents, it's that Fury is full of ****.

And just like you said the fanboys that excuse everything, which gives me more and more reason to come back here less and less, and to care less and less for Boxing.

And lastly, this thread is a good indicator of people that actually care about Boxing, and who are just blinded fanboys.

 

Chisora just showing up for another beating. God how I wish he'd get lucky and land a one shot slobberknocker on Fury. A 1% chance I guess but I'd LMFAO

 

The only persons that think this is a good fight are Fury's wife, Fury and his 11 alt accounts

 

In reality he should fight nobody since the Usyk fight would only be potentially a few months longer. Due to that fight being on the horizon, a competitive matchup was unlikely unless it was a huge fight like Joshua.

This isn't just a disgraceful fight, it's a stupid fight since Chisora offers no help in a Usyk matchup and there is still always a risk of getting caught by someone with nothing to lose, and a lot of experience fighting Fury too.

So it's not a mando, it's not going to make that much money, it's not a helpful style to train for, it's still a risk (even just from an injury/cut standpoint) and it's going to get Fury a huge backlash.

The only gain is that it gets him back in the ring in some fashion.

How stupid is Fury for this? And how stupid are his handlers?

This is probably the most shockingly stupid matchup in recent times.

I am definitely not of the opinion that Fury should not fight in December.
he should definitely fight in December.
some argue he shouldn't bother & should just wait for Usyk
but I'm not inclined to agree. I want to see some degree of activity.

but Chisora? no.
that's a fight I will not even bother watching.

 

Fury doesn't want to be out of the ring for 12-odd months going into undisputed and will be in camp for a fight, rather than potentially letting himself go. Chisora is very low risk, so Fury can spar southpaws and prepare for Usyk in advance. Fighting Wallin could give team Usyk useful film to study and would come with a much higher cut/injury risk. If Fury fights Usyk 3 months after as is the stated plan, no one will care.

Absurd match up. Chisora is not on this level. Heck even a prime Chisora is not on Fury's level.

I'm too lazy to do the research, but when was the last time a heavyweight champion fought a title fight against somebody with 12 or more losses? This is an insult to the entire sport of boxing.

 

Wallin rematch would be much better. I'd happily take that ahead of a Usyk bout, since Hearn was never going to allow Joshua to step up.

There's no risk of Fury getting caught by Chisora, though. They can do the fight ten times and Dereck loses every one.

 

Makhmudov just went ten rounds with a severely faded Takam. He's not scary to any top boy, but he is a no-name throwing his hat in the ring for a payday while bringing nothing to the table, ergo no top boy is fighting him unless he's a mandatory.

Further to my prior post, Wallin is quite arguably a trickier matchup for Fury than Oluwafemi would be. Everything Oluwafemi does plays into Fury's hands and puts him in line to get picked apart and knocked out. Wallin, while not an exact Usyk analogue, would constitute better preparation for meeting the Ukrainian, and Fury would be better prepared for Wallin the second go around.

Chisora would be a lazy, cynical selection that simply takes advantage of the heightened casual visibility/public affection Dereck has attained since establishing a working relationship with Matchroom.
