Aside from the Luis Resto-Billy Collins & Margarito-Mosely fights, has anybody else been caught doing this? Assuming many more than just those two have tried it. I read that Margarito had loaded gloves against Cotto as well, but there's no proof that I know of. Same with Dempsey-Willard. Any idea who else?
Apparently Tyson Fury had egg weights in his gloves, that was according to the autopsy done on Deontay Wilder.
Hey welcome to the forum man, I think most instances of loaded gloves are never present in championship fights, allegations though are uncommon, i don't think there are many examples of proved loaded gloves in high level, high risk fights.
Thank you. Aside from Wilder calling Fury out, I do remember Trinidad & Margarito's name being brought up as well. The one that really got my attention though, was Meldrick Taylor saying he believed Chavez's gloves were loaded. Taylor suffered some nasty injuries (check the wiki page on that fight) from Chavez. Seemed Taylor was landing the flashier punches, and clearly more punches, but whatever shots Taylor took that night seemed to be absolutely wrecking his face. I've had this discussion before about Chavez. The way he used to bust people up, he must have had the heaviest hands in the history of the sport.
George Foreman accused Alex Stewart of using loaded gloves. There was also some controversy regarding Trinidad's wraps before the Hopkins fight I believe.
