Seen a few comments over the years about the potential fight, between Lennox and Riddick in 93.
So it's Riddick defending his belts against Lewis instead of the waste of time fight, against Dokes.
Bowe doesn't panic and chuck the WBC Strap out with his dummy.

    So it's USA V UK!!!
BTW, think I'll go with Lennox.

Im sure Bowe soon after Holyfield III could have stopped Lewis.

    Bowe > McCall > Lewis.

I would give Lennox a real chance yes. There’s a reason why Rock Newman steered Bowe clear of him. And in truth, Lewis DID beat him in the Olympics. I can see arguments how Bowe would have a shot in 1993 but to make this a forgone conclusion is not something I would have done either then or now

There s a good few that say Bowe win s before Lewis got with Steward, I can understand that thinking. Yes he did really improve Lennox but Lewis was still a very good fighter pre Steward.
And yep, he did already stop Bowe, although was amateur s.
But it would have been there in Bowes mind imo.

Definitely not counting Lewis out but I would go with Bowe. Lewis was still a bit away from his prime while Bowe was in his absolute peak, as short of it was.

I'm of the notion that peak Bowe would give anyone hell.

And I think Bowe would have a real shot. But I’d still make lennox the slight favorite. Shame we never got to see this match. Might have been one of the best fights ever

It's obvious pretty close, Lewis would be the best fighter Bowe ever fought.

They're close enough that anything could happen in one fight. Reconstituted, in a best of 5, I'd definitely go with Lennox Lewis. I just think Lennox was better.

    I don't either.

However, the 1992-1993 Bowe beats Lewis imo. The 1992 has him out of there in 6 at the latest.
Anytime after 1994, Bowe gets beat, quite possibly badly.

I'm rewatching the first Golota/Bowe fight and oh dear...if Lewis landed on Bowe the way AG did 1996, Bowe wouldn't have made it 6.

I keep seeing the clip of him throwing the belt away burned in my mind everytime this match is brought up. I'd say Bowe was at his peak at this time moreso than Lewis but I think that amateur loss would haunt him still. Now a 96-99 Lewis was better but imho he still was good enough to win or at least trouble him n a big factor again would b Lewis beating him b4.

In 93 I would definitely favour Bowe. Prime vs prime is a close fight imo. At Lewis prime he struggled with a faded Holyfield.

All respect to your opinion, to me that was Holyfield, whether he fought Lewis or not.
