So Ali retains his natural gifts, but he had Golota's capacity for self destruction. How does his career pan out on this basis?
Does he still have his promotional skills and naturally charismatic personality? or is that also Golota-ifed now.
He ends up being less than half the fighter. One of Ali’s strongest attributes was courage and strong mental fortitude. Golata freaked out and quit when things got too rough
It’s never gonna go well when you transplant the brain of Abby Normal - even if it is in to one of the most athletically gifted bodies. For all its inherent qualities, a Porsche still needs a sane and emotionally equipped driver behind the wheel.
He quits, or fouls his way out of tough situations. Ali was as mentally tough as they come. Think about what he went through in Frazier 1 & 3, the broken jaw suffered early against Norton, the problem with his eyes vs. Liston, etc etc. Take that trait away from Ali, and he'd likely be a footnote in boxing history. Ali seemed willing to fight through virtually anything. Golota had an anxiety problem or something, and just panicked in tough situations.
So he fights nothing like Ali then, his brain would wire him to fight like Andrew Golota. It'll just be a worse version of the actual Golota who was a bigger man than Ali. Now Ali in Golota's body? That'd be an interesting thing to ponder about.
Very well said! You have come a long way in 7 years. What did you do to distinguish yourself as abysmal years back? I am skeptical you were ever the Golota of this place!
Considering Ali's best attribute was between his ears and his ability to fight through agony he suffers immensely and would never make it to the final bell in any of his big fights most likely.
The internal conflict of an Ali who wants to never throw a body punch guided by a Golota brain that is magnetically drawn to throw explicit, premeditated low blows would be epic.
