'Bobbleheading' is the term that escaped me in the other thread (sleeplessness), hence my hastily settling on 'rubbernecking' (which has its own connotation in boxing terms). Cheers.
Or Helenius chin is unseen China to this day. I don't want to believe in conspiracy, but holy hell, there was nothing on that punch at all. PBC also released a highlight of the fight, without the KO moment, what the hell is this *** ???
You don't know much about Helenius then. He was a protected fighter back in the Sauerland days. Rocked by Shermann Williams, one of the worst robbery in the sport against Chisora. Knocked out against Gerald Washington. Wilder is on an entire different level. A true elite fighter. People say he was exposed losing against Fury. Fury is already a special fighter, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, no shame in losing to someone like that. He has a glass jaw and Wilder has crazy power. A fatal combination.
Maybe the obvious answer here is Helenius just didn't fancy it. Got hit, took his opportunity to get out. No foul play, just wanted to enjoy his retirement with his brains in tact.
Punches that travel the shortest distance hit the hardest. And Helenius walked his glass chin straight into it. All this dive talk is embarrassing. Fighters have been put to sleep by jabs!
He no doubt is a huge puncher, that is out of the conversation, but now he is KOing 240+ guys with just an arm punches ? What next he will throw a pitty jab and will start KOing people too ? This also has nothing to do with what i expect. Anyone can check my opinion pre-fight. I said that Wilder is going to KO him, most probably inside 3 rounds. I also have stated that he look very good in his recent camp, as i have watch his whole 60 minute+ pre-fight workout routine and his recent training footage. And as i said before Wilder always feast on fighters like Helenius, they are easy pray for Wilder, but holy hell there was nothing on that punch. Again i use a bit of wide guard, with elbow being wide, and if i want to throw my right hand with the intention to hurt someone i have to move my elbow to my oblique to produce a real power punch. It's just the mechanics works. It just how it works, you cannot throw a power punch with your arm being so much away from your body. Power comes from the body, and anyone knows that, and mainly from the legs, yet there wasn't even a rotation.
Helenius didn't see it coming and dropped like a sack of potatoes. Pretty standard stuff. His reaction is exactly what you'd expect from someone who walked into a punch. Now can you explain to me how Wilder has millions in the bank to pay guys to ruin their careers taking dives?
Is your theory that the punch was legitimate, that Helenius was hurt but could have gotten up and chose not to...? That's certainly within the realm of possibility. It happened with Marciano vs Walcott 2. It would make way more sense than to assume there was a nefarious plot to fix the fight beforehand and Helenius ruined his career on purpose for a small payday.
I understand Helenius is packing china, but if that knocks him out then unfortunately he should probably be wearing a crash helmet 24/7 to ensure nothing bad happens to him in his day to day life
thats true if it is a well thrown punch with follow through. that is not the case here. his momentum was going backwards and he also didn't rotate his hips into the punch. there was zero behind this punch
I mean it looks suss but why would Wilder need to do this? He can just pick any "Victor from Norway" and win legit.
He neither tried to get up. Helenius has not the recoveries of Fury and he knew it was better for him to remain down and still
I also don't want to believe it, cause i don't see a legit reason for which Helenius will took a dive. Again he would have earned more money if he was to win the fight, and then go fight for a title. But come on, look at this angles, there is nothing on this punch. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/eQeew9BSJew https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3ZVsW3K-3-M I pretty much train Martial Arts my life. You just cannot generate power with your arm being so far from your body + not rotation properly and not put your body on your shot. There was none of that into that punch. Even when connected on Helenius it looks like a light punch. You know very well what i said before the fight that i have Wilder inside 3 and don't see how Helenius have a 1% chance even, and that Wilder made a career of beating guys like him. I also give him props in the RBR thread that he waste no time, but now looking at the replays i'm shocked as well. Again this is some new form of glass chin in Helenius, or some dodgy s**** going on.
