I just rewatched this fight. This was probably Wlad's best legit win in his title reign IMO. Unlike the disgraceful performance vs Povetkin where Wlad should have been disqualified, this was a legit win. Wlad used his jab perfectly and threw beautufil straight right hands all night long. Could Chagev have done anything differently? Or do you think he was too slow on his feet to close the distance?
No nothing. I thought he really tried to win and kept trying to win which is why he was stopped and other guys made the distance. He did stir Wlad once in closing the difference but it is obviously very very difficult when the referee allows that grab given the difference in height. I was a huge Chagaev fan and remember being weirdly proud of that performance.
I guess you are right. I really wanted Chagaev and Povetkin to win those two fights. Thankfully the reign of jab and grab is over.
Wlad was the beater of short fighters par excellance. Chagaev put in a hell of a performance heart wise, but his feet were too plodding and his arms too short. Maybe he could have done a Bowe and socked Wlad in the nuts 3-4 times idk?
Chaggy stood in Wlads blast range all night. Trying to box from that range made the fight every easy for Klitschko. He didn't even even have to clinch him. Its funny cos Chaggy would bob n wave after he got blasted. As if getting struck reminded him what he was meant do. I suppose not taking the fight on short notice and not being riddled with disease would have helped as well. Chaggy was meant be be rematching Valeuv but couldn't pass the medical. . Instead of facing the title holder , Wlad chose to fight the sick patient instead. HBO wouldn't broadcast the fight for that reason. Soon after Chaggy would fail another medical against David Haye
Obviously everyone who posts here regularly knows not to take anything dinovelvet says about Klitschko stuff seriously, but for anyone who doesn't post here regularly, just some tidyng. First, moving after you get hit is a very good thing to do. Being hit by your opponent means your opponent knows where you are so moving your head after you get hit is a very very good thing to do. It's the only thing to do, really, if your plan is to win by KO. Secondly, this is a mis-representation anyway. This content is protected 0:04 Ruslan slides without getting hit. 0:08 Ruslan slides without getting hit. 0:10 Ruslan slips a jab 0:14 Ruslan bobs/weaves without getting hit. 4:27 Ruslan dips without getting hit 4:39 Ruslan bobs/weaves without getting hit 4:46 Ruslan slips a jab 4:47 Bobs and weaves without getting hit although he did get hit with a jab before the 4:46 slip so I suppose it depends how pedantic you want to get about it which i guess, very But what dino wrote about this is explicitly untrue and even if it were true isn't what he say it is anyway. Klitschko troll is Klitschko troll.
Yeah, i provided a short list of time-stamped occasions when Chagaev did exactly that in two different spells of the highlights package attached.
I can compile a highlight package that makes it look like klitschko was dominated by Sam Peters. What you say is real but what I say is real and I can also compile the footage to prove it. Therefore I can't be a troll cos I speaketh the truth and klitfans don't like to hear the truth
so what. The highlights package shows two sections of film that I selected completely at random which are uncut which show that Chagaev moved plenty without being hit. What is this nonsense? If you prefer view the exact same sections of the full fight film and it will show you exactly the same thing. What you said has no merit. None. Moving after you are hit is good. Chagaev moved plenty without being hit, he wasn't "reminded" of "what he was meant to be doing" as per your claim.
no comment at the usual suspect arriving with the anti-Klitschko agenda. Wlad had quite a few faults as a boxer but after this guy is through with Wlad it becomes clear that Klitschko tripped over his own laces, crashed through the display cabinet where the belts were held and won them that way
