Interesting how Helenius was barely affected by numerous clean shots from Kownacki, but was out cold from a short punch with poor leverage from Wilder. Sure Kownacki isn't the strongest puncher, but he did knock out some people, including Szpilka faster then Wilder did. If Wilder is such an incredible puncher, why couldn't he knock Duhaupas out like Povetkin did? He hit him many times. I think Helenius was paid to take a dive.
@lordlush and the arbitrary martial arts mentions serve a comedic purpose, though. 'Just trust me bros, I do muay Thai.' Man, nobody cares about that lame ****.
Because I asked YOU a question first and you responded with a question. That's rude and hypocritical. I do not feel obligated to answer questions from someone who won't even do the same courtesy.
Helenius’ inability to describe how he’d potentially win, in the pre-fight interview, made me suspicious, but I do think the punch from Wilder was hard and heavy.
Translation: I was wrong, had not seen this angle, and as opposed to saying “yeah I see it, now”, I’m going to hang on to a clearly flawed premise out of stubborn pride.
I didn't mean to disrespect you in any means. But that was part of the answer really. You asked why would he do it, then i answered with an question, why would Malik do it ? It's obvious why, didn't it ? Long term friends, long term sparring partners. They may have though they have not much chance to begin with it and to take the easy money ? Could be for million reason to be fair. And could the KO being legit, yeah 100% as well. I'm not claiming 100% that this was staged. No one can be sure for sure, but it's sus, especially with Wilder history.
Not a dive Stop arguing physics when you can’t even explain what we all saw happen. Robert caught with a shot he didn’t see coming. Rocked his head and then hit the back of his head on the canvas. clear ko
Wrong. Stevern went 12 with him in the first fight. Shpilka took his shots for 10 rounds until he got tired. Duhaupas took his shots and was stopped on his feet.
Well if the KO is genuine and there is only one person who can definitively say it was or was not, that being Helenius, then either Mr Robert Gabriel Helenius needs to hang up his gloves as his punch resistance is gone totally, or every heavyweight title holder needs to give up the belts and give them to Wilder, if Deontay is able to generate that power from that limited leverage of a punch, to KO a fit 250 pound behemoth in first round, then no ones chin is safe or face as in the case of Helenius. If the champs don't heed this advice Mr Wilder will be visiting you post fight with a camera crew to give lots of hugs, talk how much he loves ya, and then get tearfully emotional about beating you..
If Helenius did take a dive, at least it wasn't anywhere nearly as egregious as Scuba Scott's dive against Wilder. You can even see Scuba shoot Wilder a sideways glance as if to say "Hey man, is the referee buying any of this?" This content is protected
