Helenius has a Glass Jaw!

    Period, end of paragraph. I can't believe that any knowledgeable boxing fan who had ANY awareness of his history of getting his fragile whiskers repeatedly obliterated, would doubt that what happened last night was simply another episode of SHATTERED GLASS!

    Indeed Helenius - like most of Wilder's opponents - was selected by his management PRECISELY because he doesn't take a good punch. So, like most Wilder opponents - and I use that term lightly - he showed up, packing that fragile china in his mandible, and predictably got iced in a round.

    In some sense these fights are set-ups, but not in the sense that some allege in that these fighters are faking getting starched. A guy like Helenius doesn't need to fake it, not with that super-fragile chin he's packing.

    Wake Up Casual Boxing fans! Take it from a 40+ year dedicated aficionado of this sport. GLASS JAWS EXIST in BOXING - and Robert Helenius most certainly has one!

    Helenius has a hard punch but does not take a punch well. No matter how or where it lands.
    Too bad. Had a lot of potential. Kinda like Lance Whitaker.

    This is perfectly said. Opponents are often hand-picked because management thinks their guy doesn't have much chance of losing. It has been going on forever and there is nothing wrong with that. In this particular case, Wilder certainly had the right to fight a softer touch. His previous two fights were brutal losses and he needed to get back in the ring with a positive result.

    People now know why Helenius was clearly picked to fight Wilder in his rebuild fight and it went exactly as planned .

    Exactly. Like most of Wilder's opponents, he had poor punch resistance. I don't know how people can laud this fraud's "power" when they look at WHO he actually has fought. Most of them are guys Chris Byrd could KO.

    Good point! Wilder padding his record with all these glass jawed stiffs is indeed shameful.
