    Fury.

Every single belt that Usyk currently holds was already won first by Fury.

Fury gave him his ring belt also as a welcome present.

Usyk is the class act, better professional, better resume amateur and pro, better skills P4P but I voted Fury. If Usyk beats Fury he cements an ATG legacy and condemns Fury to a footnote. If Fury wins he’s the best of his era but the wafer thin resume and soft fights, keeps him away from ATG discussions.

The question is “Who is the man at Heavyweight” not “Who was the man at Cruiserweight”

How can anyone pick against Fury? The Anthony Joshua/matchroom propaganda has made everyone neglect their own opinions and form judgement on matchroom narrative.

Usyk beat Witherspoon, Chisora and Joshua at heavyweight, that’s it. No one else & he had competitive fights with 2 of the 3.

Fury has only fought at heavyweight 32 times and defeated Klitschko when he was undefeated, Wilder 3 times who I rate higher then AJ and an array of B level fighters

The people choosing Usyk probably also class Ruiz as a killer, Parker as a legitimate top 5 and Povetkin & Pulev young enough to be competitive.

Fury annoys me too but I still class him as number 1. there’s no argument

    Usyk is the man.

Fury himdelf atested to that whe they had a set fight, earlier in the year, for a boatload of money, and he chickened out, once again.

    Usyk.

I don't think Fury is in any hurry to fight him, its easier for him to retire-talk-unretire-take-easy-fight-talk-retire etc.

Usyk does not have a "stain" in his career like John McDermott.
But I don't agree that Usyk should be the lineal champion.
And in the Fury Vs Usyk clash, Fury has more to prove to the world.
Although I'm not at all sure Usyk would beat Fury.

2015 Wlad was the P4P No.2 11 year unbeaten 18 consecutive defence lineal king and 4/1 favourite, Fury dethroned him by 8-4/9-3 margins in Germany, setting a record for fewest punches taken from a champion in a 12 round championship fight.

Wilder was an undefeated, 5 year reigning, 10 consecutive defence world champion and Joshua's main rival while Fury was away, as well as the favourite to beat Fury in fight 1 and 2. Fury dethroned him by 7th round KO in America and defended his title against him by knocking him out in their third fight, again on the road. The Fury-Wilder trilogy is the defining rivalry of the post-Klitschko era.

Joshua had gone life and death with an inactive post-Fury Wlad in Britain and had already been turned over by fringe contender Andy Ruiz via NOMAS7 by the time Usyk got to him, and Usyk beat him twice, once as the underdog. Usyk has also beaten Chisora at heavyweight in an unexpectedly tough fight, who Fury totally dominated back in 2014, and took his 0 back in 2011 in a largely one-sided fight, where Fury went in as the underdog.

Then it's quasi-retired short notice Witherspoon vs Kevin, Hammer, Whyte, Wallin and Cunningham.

With wins over Klitschko (dethronement of a long-reigning champion after having been unfancied by pundits, fans and oddsmakers), Wilder (again defied expectations by walking into the division's biggest puncher and demolishing him) and Usyk (fine credentials, coming off a pair of victories over Joshua), historians will absolutely rate Fury as one of the great heavyweights.

If he adds Joyce to the win column (and recent comments from Warren indicate that both Usyk and Joyce are in Tyson's sights), all the better. If he's also able to add Joshua at some point before they hang up their gloves, he'll have fought and defeated pretty much everyone of real note in his time.

"historians will absolutely rate Fury as one of the great heavyweights."

Definitely, especially if he retires undefeated having run that gauntlet. Fury has already overcome the odds on 4 occasions: how many other heavyweight champions in history have equalled or bettered that? Possibly Ali and Holyfield but I can't think of anyone else.

Let's just say, for argument's sake, that Fury categorically should have come away from his first bout with John McD with a 1 in his L column, does it really constitute a significant blemish in 2022?

    Some perspective;

That bout took place a professional lifetime ago, all the way back in 2009—he was a green, barely twenty-one-year-old kid who was taking on an experienced and respected campaigner just nine months and seven fights into his pro career after a modest amateur background. He dug deep, rallied back from some adversity and finished the bout strong. And then he knocked John silly in the rematch.

    My extended thoughts on that bout, for the record;

You cannot by default, vis-a-vis, de facto, ergo be ''The Man'' when ''The Man'' just so happens to also be the P4P King and holds 3/4 belts at HW in their possession

You're all playing by a set of rules which have been invalidated

Those rules do not apply anymore

Fury was dropped heavily, given by his own admission the toughest fight of his career, and very nearly lost to KO 32% CW Cunningham who isn't fit to lace Usyk's son's boots when he stepped up to CW Level

Usyk has fought the vast majority of the elite CW Level bangers out there and he wasn't hurt once, let alone dropped flat on his back

And Fury was dropped heavily by KO KO 27% HW Pajkic and badly hurt and almost dropped by KO 24% HW Firtha

Usyk took everything the murderous punching KO 84% AJ x 2 and Chisora, Majidov, Joyce, Nistor and Fa threw at him down at HW Level

Those KDs Fury suffered both up at CW Level and down at HW Level at the soft hands of featherfists lower his stock and not by a little bit either

Fury's the Don, Usyk wants to usurp him, it's the way it is.

These discussions will be moot within a year. The truth will be known to all by then, though I expect there will still be those who struggle to accept it.

4 HW wins for Usyk vs a bunch of crap fighters + Wlad + Wilder X2 for Fury..........both records are so bad that I barely consider them. Horrible HW records. Call it a tie.

H2H, Fury rips Usyk's face off.

It's funny, since Usyk beats super-heavies, suddenly the 'Fury is too big' talk has dried up LOLOL I looooooove it!
