For me, Wilder couldn’t have found the openings that George did.

So you think Frazier is just going to Bob and weave and never get hit. That simple…. Got it.

Wilder at his optimal weight 215 and below didn't show bad stamina to me, and he didn't seem to need much leverage at all when he damn near decapitated Helenius. People said Tyson didn't fight well on the inside and that Ali never punched to the body or threw upper cuts but it didn't take away from their overall accomplishments of being Great fighters. Very few fighters have it all, it doesn't mean they can't compete with and beat the fighters that do.

No. Of course not. But what would Wilder have hit?

Foreman manoeuvred him into his uppercuts. It hurt him and slowed him down. So that each time he got back up, he was more stationary and easier to hit.

Wilder couldn’t have gotten as close. He’s 6’7 with zero inside game. He hasn’t got an uppercut to have hit him clean, to either have knocked him out or to have slowed him down.

He wouldn’t have connected a straight right hand on a 5’10 guy that he couldn’t have gotten close to.

The left hand that he hit Fury with is also not going to be there on a 5’10 guy with Frazier’s movement.

He wouldn’t have had the time or the space.

Wilder has great speed and power. He’s faster than George. But again, the openings wouldn’t have been there, and he didn’t have the style to enforce them. He’d be further away from different angles. Frazier would be far more elusive to him, than what he was to George.

He has the attributes that George had, but not the style/technique.

So it would have made it a completely different fight.

Wilder has the power to have destroyed Frazier, but nothing else required in order to have utilised it.

    A gun with no bullets.

It’s just another example of the beauty of styles.

    No fighter has it all.

    No fighter is unbeatable.

Every fighter in history has a stylistic nemesis.

Fights are always determined upon how the two guys match up stylistically on the night.

Frazier would just have been a terrible match up for Wilder.

Wilder would have had more of a chance of beating Foreman.

So basically you’re confirming what I thought you said which is you don’t believe he’d get hit. Looking at the ferocity in which wilder cornered many of his opponents and completely unloaded on them I’d have disagree.

True but I’m just saying he can still generate legit power with short punches.

Yes it was the crosses and uppercuts doing the damage but they were set up by the jab in very specific ways as I mentioned earlier. Wilder didn't have much of a jab at all and certainly wouldn't or couldn't use it to the same effect Foreman did. Foreman also used tactics to maneuver Frazier which Wilder wouldn't use.

You seem to think any taller guy with a punch can beat Frazier. Foreman was a one in a million fighter, who was very different to Wilder aside from one punch.

Wilder may have been taller but he doesn't seem to have much of a size advantage. He was 212 in his best performance against Fury.

I’m not saying that. Of course he’d have hit Frazier. But no, I don’t think he’d have been able to have hit him flush with any of his great power shots. Not without an inside game to get him into a vulnerable position.

I've not yet seen Wilder against a top-notch swarmer with power. I personally suspect that Frazier will suck up his space to throw his bombs and outwork him on the inside. Of course with Wilder's power you could never count him out but his generally low level of competition makes him hard to evaluate.

I think Wilder vs Ruiz would be an interesting fight to see if a shorter fighter could bother Wilder with pressure. Of course Ruiz isn't a quarter of inside fighter Frazier was, but at least it would give us some idea and Wilder is past his best already.

Sometimes, even before you say something, you know damn good and well you're not capable of being objective about what you're about to say but Frazier KO1. With a straight right hand. I said it. Yeah, I said it.

Helenius has a skull made out of ice cream wafers, though. He has been shown to be very susceptible, when on the receiving end; to those with much less power than Wilder can deliver.

I am not suggesting Wilder doesn't carry a dig at short range; it's just that Helenius' punch resistance is not the best of baselines upon which to rely. So, I wouldn't read a whole lot into that KO - impressive as it looked.

I suspect that fight might currently be in the making...
