Of course. We both know this. What is your point? Just to clarify I am not an apologist for Ray Robinsons loss. We all know that quote about air-conditioners by now he lost fair and square.

What did Joey say after? “It’s not like I had an air conditioner in my corner,” haha.

Sigh... No one is disputing that Maxim was fighting under the same conditions.

But nor should anyone dispute that if it wasn't for those conditions, Robinson would have won.

Maxim only won three of the thirteen rounds and two of those were when Robinson was falling apart.

Hearns wilted in the heat against Leonard.

Emanuel Steward said: "I have no qualms about the referee's decision. Some people said because Tommy was ahead on the scorecards he should have been given a chance to finish the fight, but the truth is, if he'd made it out of that round he couldn't even have made it back to the corner, much less lasted another round. His legs were gone. He was cooked."

Nothing to do with the heat. That was fought at a much faster pace than Robinson-Maxim and Leonard nearly cut him in half with a few body shots — but it was Leonard’s power and barrage of head shots that left Tommy stepping in post holes and unable to finish.

Hearns wouldn't use as much energy as Robinson did
because of his ability to control distance with his jab.
I see this looking a lot like Hearns victory over Virgil
    Hill.
Hearns controlled the center of the ring behind
his jab against Hill , and occasional right hand and the THREAT
from it, cruised to a decision. But that's a 12 rd fight.
    15 rds? I don't believe Hearn's legs would carry
him that distance, even in a fight he doesn't
    get pushed physically .

Maxim was no slouch. He went the distance with Charles 5x, and Moore 3x. Didn't win any of those contests but each of those two hit as hard or harder than Tommy. Better P4P fighters too. He had wins over Walcott and Patterson as well. I like Maxim in this one.

Robinson got beat 103 degree heat. Hearns by clear UD in a normal environment.

    Maxim was solid.
Hearns power shots wouldn't have the desired effect.
The maxim gun wins on points or stoppage
