    What is Canelos next move?

Seems like the Bivol rematch has fallen through, and 175 seems a bridge to far for Canelo anyways, but 168 doesn't have the marquis fights for Canelo outside MAYBE Benevidez or even Charlo IF he moves up.

    Thoughts?

Has he got his Surgery yet?, once that is healed & rehabbed that will be at least a year so for now probably nothing.

There are no big names at 160 or 168 and I don't think he wants Beterbiev or a Bivol rematch. If Zurdo Ramirez upsets Bivol I could see Alvarez-Ramirez as a big Cinco de Mayo weekend bout next May Other than that he's going to have to defend a belt against somebody's number one contender or face Benavidez.

this is actually the best thing for the sport / at least from the perspective of most fans.

    Canelo has found his ceiling.
He should do what a lot of all time greats do
Campaign at your most comfortable weight & clean out the division

till he’s taking on the next generation of young guns.

I like his attitude when he was asked about how much bigger Zurdo is, that Zurdo is the bigger man, that he could rehydrate to 200 lbs. Bivol said he doesn't care if he weighs 300 lbs on fight night, all that matters is that he weighs 175 lbs before, at the weigh-in. I wonder who Bivol is sparring to simulate Zurdo.

Loma at 135 is giving away significantly bigger physical advantages in terms of weight and reach than Clenelo is at 175 but, like Loma, against the biggest fighters at those respective weights the size advantage makes things way way harder to overcome than they are one weight South. Both Clenelo and Loma can win titles at those weights but trying to unify all the belts individually at them is a tall order just due to size.

They should've grabbed a belt at those weights and then moved back down. But they both dared to be great and they shouldn't be penalized for doing so or moved out of the P4P ten for taking Ls against the best fighters in their third or fourth weight classes, especially considering you have many fighters who are one or two weight champions who are absolutely massive for their weight (s) and have never even fought prime world champions their size, let alone way bigger ones in their third of fourth weight classes.

They're both doing two completely different things: Leprechauns slaying giants is not the same as giants slaying leprechauns

Agreed. Even from Canelo's perspective. Canelo has his Undisputed Titles to defend anyway. Rematching Bivol next would be a huge risk, and we all want to see Bivol Beterbiev more than Bivol Canelo 2. And if Bivol Beterbiev does happen, then a Bivol Rematch down the road becomes even bigger if Bivol is victorious. But does Beterbiev want the fight, can the fight actually be made?

As for where Canelo goes next, probably he will fight the winner of Parker / Ryder.

It's admirable but it could prove costly, though

    Not sure who he's sparring

Who do you favor? It's a tough assignment for Bivol, that's for sure. I think I would have to favor Bivol as he's very difficult to outwork and win a decision against.

Bivol but I've always considered Zurdo a good fighter and the size (weight difference is ridiculous) so he has a chance
