Arslanbek Makhmudov returns on the 16th Decemeber

I'm hereby prescribing R&R for anyone who thinks Tyson Fury is ducking [url]this guy[/url].

For one, he was just recently made to resemble a swinging troglodyte in his biggest step up to date, which came against — wait for it — a washed Carlos Takam.

For another, nobody with a title is boxing him unless he's a mandatory because he's a no-name who brings nothing of value to the table.

Lastly, Fury uses his face for a speedbag.

 

The only reason half disagree is that Fury, Usyk, Wilder, Joyce and Joshua are all in the 34-37 range. When they are gone who the hell is left?

 

I see Jalolov taking over the divison after they've left.

 

I see him chasing them out

 

Makhmudov is approaching 34 himself

Eh, maybe he should. Keep himself nice and busy.

Fury's been where Makhmudov's been. He had to wait until Waldo P. Kliterson Jones was mandated to box him, while Waldo was giving himself cushy voluntaries with the likes of Mormeck and Pianeta (at least Fury can say he only fought that guy coming off a massive layoff). Difference between them is, Fury was a man of destiny and had what it took to dethrone the reigning king, whereas Arslanbek Makhmudov is, uh, Arslanbek Makhmudov.

As much as it smells, Chisora is getting this shot for one reason and one reason only, his visibility to the casual audience.

 

Rather Fury fought this guy then Delboy again. Atleast there is a sense of danger and unknown.

 

We'd all rather Fury wasn't boxing Chisora. But Makhmudov is a nobody as things stand—realistically, nobody at the top is giving him a look.

 

Since Makhmudov fights in Canada I thought his opponent might be Kean but Kean is fighting Lenroy Thomas...

His promoter rarely pits his top fighters against each other. A few years ago, there was no chance of Beterbiev ever fighting Adonis Stevenson.

But he's friends with Bob Arum, so Makhmudov and Kean might fight Top Rank heavyweights.

 

If only David Haye had wanted that smoke, eh?
