no. Me and Mongoose posted at the same time. He was permabanned around 2016 for calling out the mods for calling Mcvey and Foxy pedophiles and accusing them of favoritism, and saying "Screw you and your pedophile posters. I'm out.". He later came back as the Kentucky Cobra but he was banned as well iirc. We actually disagreed on a fair lot, notably Liston and Marciano.
An gotcha. well anyway good debate. For the record I’m not necessarily favoring wilder over Joe Frazier. I think it would be a hard fight and for many of the reasons I originally stated. Wilder was bigger, with a good chin, the ability to got the distance and a lot of punching power. Lesser men have given Joe Frazier trouble even if they were dissimilar
Agree Tock, Joe would take as much as he could without complaint but in the right (or wrong) area those shots can be deadly. I could be wrong but I think even Foreman whacked poor old Joe on the top of the head a few times - I’d have to review.
Wilder is the King of filler. When did Wilder ever beat a guy like Frazier? Not one of your facts are relevant to how these guys would have matched up stylistically on the night. Wilder has huge power, but no inside game. He clearly isn’t as physically strong as George. All of which would have made for a completely different fight.
I agree. Frazier's a heavy favorite in my book but with a right hand like Wilder's, he's a punchers chance against anyone. I also don't think he's half as bad as this forum thinks he is or he wouldn't have went nearly as far as he did, only losing to the best in the world twice, whom he gave hell to on 2 out of 3 occasions, and nearly knocked out at least 3 different times!
Agree. I think Wilder has become very underrated. There are some who are even picking 90’s fringe contenders to beat him
Perhaps that's because, other than failing to beat Fury, on no less than three occasions, he's beaten no one on the level of a 90s fringe contender.
I Agree with Sauhund II, the amount of hate Wilder gets on here is crazy. This one poster literally wrote a whole essay depicting his distaste of Wilder going all the way back to his amateur career. It was legit 3-4 pages long. WHO dedicates that type of time to discredit and spew that much hate for a fighter ...lol. But Sauhund did make some good points about Frazier. Name some huge punchers that Frazier fought in his career.
Though he had already inflicted punishment on Bernice, the way Tyson’s last, very short punch to the temple discombobulated (love the way that word rolls off the tongue) Berbick was very cool.
Wilder would take Frazier out. Horrible style match up for Frazier. He's supposed to connect with a leaping left hook and walk through Wilder's power with that shitty defense? Wilder wouldn't even bother trying to win rounds. He'd land big well before twelve rounds.
From what I recall, I agree Foreman did hit Joe illegally, intentional or not. Joe could weather any storm, but against the guys he's fighting and the style he uses, he really shouldn't. Agree that Joe would have absolutely no complaints but like you said, he could die against the competition he is facing. Come to think of it Wilder could literally kill Joe if there is no three knockdown rule, likewise Foreman could have too.
Yeah that much of a height discrepancy though could be a handicap on Wilder's part couldn't it? And I mean Joe's style is built around neutralizing a larger and taller fighters natural advantages. I absolutely agree though that Wilder has the obvious physical advantages.
