Furys best bouts and wins were his mcdermott fights at 20 years old. if you know you know. Wlad, Wilder and the rest of them are mere formalities, Fury runs supreme. Its no Ali liston but these giants take much longer to mature, just like big fruits.
Im bieng deadly serious A 5 round fighter with no training slogging thruogh exhaustion on nothing but guts and heart. that bout alone shows what Fury has unlike Wlad and AJ.
McDermott would lose to everyone on that list of Wlad's opponents I posted. Even the worst ones which are considered good wins for The Dosser Here's Wlad knocking out a prime Austin who hadn't lost in like six years or something without, quite intentionally throwing a single right hand the entire fight, Wlad was crucified for obliging his mandatory Austin, a prime version, and he was seen as one of Wlad's weakest title defences This content is protected Here's The Dosser's second best win getting his ears boxed off by a 40 y/o way past prime version of his second best win, prior to the old man's gas tank running dry and getting clipped. The commentary was scathing. Stiverne made Austin look like a prime Sweet Pea This content is protected
Wlad beat a much longer list of decent guys (usually with A-side advantage) but he didn't have the top wins Usyk and especially Fury have, let alone on the road and Wlad had several losses, including to fringe contenders and a journeyman. This makes the "resume" debate highly subjective. It's assumed that 27 year old 24-0 Fury in his world title debut was "prime" when at the same age Wlad was getting knocked out by fringe contenders Sanders and Brewster, despite having far more amateur and pro experience than Fury. It's overlooked that Wlad, who was 12 months removed from a career best performance, had home and A-side advantage, was a 4/1 underdog and had recently signed a 5 fight extension to his TV contract, was limited to a historically low number of punches landed for a champion in a 12 round fight, losing 8-4/9-3 on the cards in Germany. Is there a better example of a 12 round defensive masterclass at heavyweight?
I think Fury v Usyk will become like Tyson v Spinks. Fury will destroy him & then everyone will say it was an obvious mismatch anyway.
true but most of them picked Fury to lose the first fight & then when Fury struggled with Wallin & going into the second fight, they were not too sure Fury's chances at all. I suspect Wilder will destroy Ruiz in his next fight. for what that's worth. even Wilder's ancient twice leftovers Ortiz shot to pieces gave Ruiz a tough time & Ruiz is 1-1 with Usyk's best heavyweight win. actually Ruiz has the best win over AJ. so the post-Fury ruin known as Wilder beating Ruiz will show how **** the division is. It's not just Wilder.
I've already seen the excuse " Fury will try to age Usyk out". so if the fight happens in April instead of February they want to say Usyk was left on shelf to go old. nevermind that Fury isn't much younger, has been professional much longer, was off for almost 3 years horrendous obese, been written off as finished way more times. & obviously yes with the Ukraine war situation any loss Usyk might suffer will be blamed on Putin.
The Putler narrative was being premeditated here back in the summer, in case he somehow slipped up in the Oluwafemi rematch. I expressed my belief that the Russo-Ukrainian conflict would much more likely stoke a fire in Usyk and deepen his resolve than hinder him going into the bout, and his performance certainly looked driven and keen to my eyes. Won't stop it being trotted out again for Fury, though.
Fury was calling Wilder shyte for ages before he beat him Mind you so was much of this forum. In fact Fury was probably harsher on Wilder than this forum as a whole.
