BoxRec rounded it off.116-112. The first round wasn't that close if you slow things down when needed. Canelo wasn't hitting much, and GGG landed alot with the jab. Canelo couldn't get the range.
Clarisa is a clown, she thought she could beat GGG a while back if I'm remembering right. Delusional.
Canelo should have had points deducted for low blows, its easier to find the low blows than legal body shots that were counted.
You can make an argument that GGG won? So now it's close enough to score for GGG? Either it was close or it wasn't. You snapped at me for suggesting you thought it was close, now you're saying you can make an argument that GGG won, which surely means you think it's close. Make up your mind lol. "Story of the fight" or not, it has to be close in order for you to say you can score it for GGG. With the 2nd fight, whether the story of the fight played a role, we all saw a very close and competitive fight. In the 3rd fight, we didn't see that. There's a difference in a fighter saying he wants to KO his opponent which is pretty standard as what the goal is for any fighter in any fight, to take it out of the judges hands and end the fight on your own vs what GGG did after the first fight with saying Canelo should fight Mexican Style. And lets not forget that Abel Sanchez said GGG would KO him the first time and that didn't come close to happen. So by that logic "if we go by that angle" then Canelo should have won the 1st fight since GGG failed to do what his trainer said he was gonna and what many fans expected. Your main argument about the 3rd fight seems to be that Canelo failed to KO GGG. Just remember you're talking to someone who didn't buy into any of that hoopla and didn't expect a KO. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you say that you were optimistic that GGG could force a stoppage? (or was that someone else?) Regardless, Canelo fought a very good fight, he did what he had to do to get a clear win, while GGG didn't. And like I said, if all the KO talk gave Canelo a mental edge over GGG and made GGG fight that cautious, it's hard to argue with the results. A one-sided domination of GGG, which despite how the judges had it is the prevalent view of the fight from the press and boxing pros who gave their score, there's not much more you can ask for. Give it a rest with the drugs, you're getting despo. It was a major victory. No one's ever beat GGG convincingly like that. GGG had never been beaten like that before. I don't have to spin anything to show who was the clear winner and who the public see as the clear winner. The only people trying to spin this is to suggest that it was close or that the judges scores had it right. Their scores were seen by the public as far too close, the public saw this as the one-sided dominatoin that it was, and if you don't think it was close then you would agree with that. However your inner child continues to fight me on this because you're such a big GGG fan, even though you know that, you can't bring yourself to admit it because you were so disappointed in GGG's performance. You're not alone in that my man, we all were disappointed in GGG for not coming to fight as so many of his fans hoped and longed for. He got thoroughly dominated and to the victor goes the spoils.
No, because the first fight's press scores had GGG winning, but by a much smaller margin than the 3rd fight.
The 1st fight was seen by the public as a close fight that GGG edged by a narrow margin, the 3rd fight was seen as one-sided domination by Canelo that wasn't close.
The press row scores for the 1st fight have been thoroughly covered for the last 5 years. What hasn't been covered is how the press row scored the 3rd fight which is what this topic is about.
Because the first fight everyone scored to Golovkin apart from judges. Third fight everyone scored for Canelo including the judges.
