It really does suck because I thought for sure it was gonna happen, then it fell apart. The biggest fight of the entire year might've been Canelo/GGG III, which didn't deliver at all.
In the UK, Boxing has been on the slide since the BBC stopped showing it or even reporting it. At £40 a pop, small hall Boxing is a dear night out if you can get it. Sadly it is no longer a mainstream sport.
every boxing fan who bought Mayweather v McGregor & Tyson v Jones exhibition & Jake Logan or whatever has helped push an already dying sport to its death you cannot complain about real boxers avoiding their main rivals when you've paid for this type of gimmick matches
Boxing is it's own worst enemy. People, usually non-whites, slate Canelo. But he is a breath of fresh air. Charlos? Bad for the sport. Tyson? Same. Tank? Same. Bud? Snap. These top dudes and many others are a cancer to this sport.
Boxing wont die and is not in any form of crisis due to dumb fans. The promoters feed you all a load of crap about so and so and you eat it up. Joyce better than everyone but Fury & Usyk? Ok Frank. Crawford P4P? Who has he fought Bob? I dislike Canelo more than anyone, he’s not likeable at all but he is the only fighter in the sport who actually puts it on the line and takes risks. Boots thinks he is great? Why not step in and fight either Spence or Crawford? Instead we get some Aveneysan. Fury vs Chisora? Fk outta here. Aslong as we have dumb fans like yourselves, boxing will survive. If you want to watch the best fight the best, just watch UFC
Lot of things wrong with boxing. Judging is corrupt. Managers grooming bums with horrible padded records and the governing bodies turning a blind eye to these fake warriors. Rankings are a joke and only there to fit narratives. Boxers are divas. Doping control is intentionally inadequate. Some fighters are straight up toxic for the sport like Fury.
Fury is good for the sport. people have gone dementia because he's having an easy **** fight next. It's an indefensible fight but he beat his mandatory in April he faced the most ferocious puncher in the division 3 times his comeback since 2018 has made the division more interesting it would be stupid to deny this
The fans don't matter, Boxing will be fine as it always survives one way or another, The World keeps spinning
How? He is literally a PED, cocaine and alcohol abuser. He fights unranked guys. He ducks quality opponents. His best win is against old Wlad in one of the worst fights in HW championship history. He was about to fight an inactive bum with a hip replacement surgery on PPV. He's got a horrible CV P.S. He was also never the lineal champion he claims to be since Klitschko wasn't himself and we won't have one one until there's an undisputed champ
We still got Bivol vs. Ramirez. That is going to be a really good fight. Lomachenko vs. Ortiz could end up being a competitive fight.
The biggest problem is talented up-and-comers being avoided. Hrgovic was avoided until he regressed as a fighter. Joyce is now being avoided. Bakole now seems to be avoided. Zhang is now avoided. Jalalov is avoided. Makhmudov is in need of a December opponent, but is being avoided and will need to settle for a journeyman. Tyson Fury chooses to fight an old, shop-worn Chisora, whom he already beat twice. There are too many mismatches, not enough competitive fights. Too many fighters are being over-protected, and others poorly promoted.
