Crawford was offered the smaller split and no guarantee for a November date. According to Crawford he agreed to these terms, however.
Crawford in turn demands “transparency related to event expenses” and “the ability to approve expenses”. There is a “dispute” for some time.

Spence(Haymon) eventually replies with a revamped contract (sent about 2 weeks ago from today), but now the fight date is February 2023.

Crawford consequently signs for a stay busy fight with #8 ranked David Avanesyan. Stating he told Haymon he wanted to have a fight in 2021 one way or another.

When you put it like that it doesn’t sound so bad but this **** went on way too long and became an embarrassment.

genuinely, I hope they both lose their tune up fights and the division kicks back into life

The only reason to request transparency cost related to event expenses with your purse split fully disclosed is so you can nitpick your way to a higher payday.
Crawford camp clearly dragging their feet.

    I don’t know what’s going on.

I still think Crawford is a dangerous guy. Just keep fighting..move on.

Spence ain’t coming back from a torn retina.

Is that your excuse for Crawford fighting this low ranked boxer in December?

Yes, Crawford was ducked. Badly. But at least we get to see him in action. Hopefully for a highlight reel ko.

Avanesyan is ranked higher than all but 2 of Wilders best wins.

No, no, no! You ask for transparency so you know what you're agreeing to most importantly. Contracts need to be very detailed. Little things can make a huge difference. Words like "and", "or" can have major implications. Example, rematch clauses, you can agree to a rematch, but if there isn't a specific time the rematch must happen, the winner can say as much and not give a rematch for years. So yeah, you want transparency and complete understanding before signing. To your point, one could nitpik for more money, but understanding what is in the contract is just good business.

In short, Crawford is a high risk low reward fighter who nobody knows. Al is protecting Spence from Crawford due to that. Despite the fact that nobody know who Crawford is he still wants to get paid 8 figures.

In short, nobody wants to make a single concession. It's all about what I want.

But it was Spence that put the Feb date in the contract.
