With a big asterisk against McDermott 1, don’t care what anyone says he lost that fight, he was lucky the fight was not scored by the judges

Being undefeated shouldn’t be celebrated. If you’re going to celebrate Fury’s achievements, celebrate the wins away from home against Klitschko and Wilder, and potentially a win against Usyk.

He arguably lost to John McDermott in their first fight. That doesn’t take away anything he has achieved at the highest level.

Whereas I liked Fury up until the point where he decided to fight Chisora for a third time, I think it is worth pointing out that his competition has been mostly very light, and he has spent several periods of 1-3 years off, so the 15 year statistic is hardly meaningless.

WladKlit, WilderX2, Whyte, ChisoraX2, Cunningham, Wallin, Hammer, Johnson, Pianeta, Rogan...that is at it most expansive about what you can give him.

If he beats Usyk (and I am not convinced that he will) and follows it up with Joshua...that will be an extremely impressive career, but still probably just outside of top ten heavy.

He recently said he wants to fight 20 more times...I hope he is telling half the truth. Say he goes 1-1 with Usyk, adds Joshua, goes on the beat Joyce, Ruiz, Hrgovic and a couple of others...now we we are talking a first tier champ.

Sadly. I think we all know its not going to happen.

I watched the McDermott fight back fairly recently. I had him winning 7-3, you could also make a case for 6-4 McDermott.

Everyone who thinks it was a ‘close’ fight. Just watch it back. Fury in reality isn’t undefeated.

The mcdermott fights regardless how you score the first fight are such good learning fights. I haven't watched the first one for a long time but he did win the second fight conclusively. I think it was furys 5th fight or at least under 10 fights and mcdermott was no mug.

Records are something to look at but it doesn't always tell the full story. Every unbeaten fighter had fights that could have been given the other way calzaghe and mayweather included. Nobody ever asks fury about mcdermott but it's no longer relevant.

This 100%. Plus Wallin would have been stopped all day long if he had the cut that Fury had. Fury could and most possibly should have 2 defeats on his record plus the mysteriously changed around no contest against Hammer. On the plus side, all being fair he possibly shouldn’t have a draw on his resume against Wilder. So even if Fury was a more realistic 29-2-1 it shouldn’t take away anything from his resume or achievements. .

    Had lots of luck too.

Never seen the McDermott fight but most say he lost it.

Against Wallin it's the worst cut I've ever seen a fight not get called off for. Seen fights get called off for stuff nowhere near as bad.

Wilder 1 - ref could have easily stopped it and a long count but great recovery

Only due to dogy ref judging decision - clearly Fury should if lost to Mcdemorrt in their first fight. Also had there not been some much money on the Wilder rematch, the fight against Wallin would have been stopped and he would of lost due to that cut.

That said, Fury had two quality and impressive wins over top HWs in Wlad and Whyte.

I still hope Fury fights Usyk and AJ before he retires.

All these HW fights should already have happened already. Everyone should have had a loss by now.
