usyk is an old school elite heavyweight...a lot of IQ for boxing...fast hands and dominant...but if fury crushes him it means the extra weight played a role and he belongs to another division...because because this era of heavyweights is huge... wilder joshua
and fury are giants even loser brazel but they are other weights

Should "I" create another division? Unless you are the Pope & Godfather of boxing, I think you meant should another division be created.
Firstly, if Fury beats Usyk because he is allowed an unconscionable, should be illegal amount of clinching, holding, mauling, pulling Usyk down &/or around...
    It proves nothing.
Except that especially when the rules already favor size-number of rounds, size of gloves...

Next I like the idea of another division, IF whoever wins the face-off between say the under 230 & unlimited weight division is declared HW champion.
AND to make it meaningful you gotta have same day, before the fight weigh ins.
Otherwise you will get guys weighing in ~229, when with ~ 10% rehydration, at fight time they are easily fighting in the 250's!

This would be to create excitement, can the "little" guys beat the behemoths?
But since with day before weigh ins even someone about Usyk's size can make CW if they choose, it is not a necessary change.
Although if we eliminated the hazard, mismatches & hypocracy of day before weigh-ins across the board, it WOULD kill 2 birds with one stone.

For better or for worse, they've already created the Bridgerweight division for this exact reason....

The weight classes up until light heavyweight are even absurd - with about 1 to 2 kilos of difference each, then you get someone who's great just because he gained 3-4 kilos, lost 1-2 and became champion in 3-4-5 divisions. Passing light heavyweight you've the cruiserweight for 12 kilos before the lower limit of the heavyweight at 91 and going unlimited. This is absurd - boxing should keep the principle of few kilos for a new category, so having at least one between light heavy and cruiser and one from 91 to XX before going heavy. This will allow taller people to be champions in more divisions as well, but most of all, will make it more fair for the ones that are not that tall, but aren't short. What's the point of having the heavyweight division starting from 91 where practically every good fighter there is not less than 100? Same for the cruiser - they're all around 88-90.

I could see moving all the weight classes up a little bit (especially if it could be paired with same day weigh ins) but I feel like the talent is already pretty thinly spread so no need for additional divisions.

Once you get over 200lbs I'm not sure weight makes that much difference. Wilder doesn't have more power at 230 than he does at 210. Usyk isn't weaker at 220 than Joshha is at 250. Parker bulking up to 250+ didn't do anything for him against Joyce.

Tyson Fury is a one off freak. He's naturally 270lbs and can actually box. No point in creating a new division just for one guy, and once he's gone there won't be another like him for a long time.

If they changed the HW limit to 230 say, all the smaller guys would just bulk up to 230 so really you'd be harming their chances by forcing them to fight at a heavier weight than they would have done otherwise.

Well, power improves more or less if you gain properly. Plus, weight itself counts. So they can play a bit with the last two categories, won't harm anyone, nor stopping him being at the weight he currently is. Will just be a competitor at a differently named class at "worst". There are other contact sports where the weight classes are more adequate and/or the heavy-one has an upper limit even.

I agree, but for the lower weight classes separated by 1-2-3 kilos.

I thought I was the only one regarding the smaller weight classes. It's beyond a joke.

If you're taller than 6'3 you should be fighting as a heavyweight imo. It's up to them what weight they choose.

Pushing up the limit isn't doing Usyk/Wilder any favours at all.

I am not saying it because of Wilder, Usyk or any fighter in particular. Depending on your physique, even being a bit shorter than 6'3, you can easily be a bad heavyweight, people of 5'10-5'11 can do, depends on a style as well. But as for the tall ones that are fighting cruisers or sometimes even lower, it's clearly because of the reach advantage and the lack of balls to fight where their place is.

You must be a very important man, being able to create a new boxing division at a moments notice.
